Based on your view, give any 4 (FOUR) suggestions in minimizing the

issues/problems occurred in the movie based on the topics that you have learned in

this course.

First issue that has been stated in question (b) which is against the real religious

taught. This can be clearly seen through the antagonist character by Abuja. Abuja was

a man who misused religious teachings aimed at misleading all the villagers for his

own benefits. In this situation, Abuja thought that he was very knowledgeable in

Islamic religious until he felt that no one has the religious knowledge that he had. In

my view as a viewer, in tackling this issue, Abuja should had clarity in himself.

Clarity is when the individual self-concept is clearly and confidently described,

internally consistent and stable across time. As a human, Abuja should not practice

something that against the real religious taught as this is contradict with God’s

commandment and should clearly believing in one God which is Allah.

Based on the second issue that had been revealed in the part (b) which is

using violence against women and child and force people to be his disciple which can

be shown through the character of Abuja. Violence can be defined as a behaviour

involving physical force intended to hurt, damage or kill someone or something, it

also could give an unstable emotion to those violent victim. Emotions are

physiological, behavioral, and psychological episodes experienced toward an object,

person, or event that create a state of readiness. In my point of view, to minimize this

issue, Abuja should have his sympathy on women and child. This is because, as we

know that woman is very weak while violence towards child can affect both their

mentally and physically as they are in the process of growth especially at the age of

Sakinah’s daughter. Besides that, Abuja should not do violence against Sakinah and
her daughter because Sakinah was once his own flesh and blood. Other than that,

Abuja also should not be too emotional in forcing the villagers to obey his teachings.

This is because being too emotional could lead to a bad result. Moreover, the villagers

have their own rights to make decision and belief in choosing leaders who should they

want to follow.

Next, the issue related to Ustaz Adam where Ustaz Adam had a high

motivation in helping Sakinah’s father cured from being possessed by the black magic.

Even though Ustaz Adam knew that Abuja hated him so much but Ustaz Adam

insisted to give a help to Sakinah’s father. Adam went to the village despite not

getting permission from his mother. He actually went there to help to cure Sakinah’s

father as Azhar need his help. But as they reached Sakinah’s house, he realised that

Sakinah’s father actually had died and then he need to help Sakinah from being

possessed by black magic. In my opinion, even though Ustaz Adam were very

motivated and has a good-hearted by helping Sakinah out from the black magic he

should know that he has been risk his own life and he also had disobey his mother

advice. He should listen to his mother advice because his mother was worried about

his safety and his mother knew that Abuja is a dangerous person that could harm

people with his power.

Lastly, the issue of betrayal. This can be observed from the character of

Ustaz Azman, who is also Ustaz Adam’s close friend. Ustaz Azman was the person

who killed Maria, one of villager that Ustaz Adam had cured from black magic in the

previous season of Munafik. Ustaz Azman killed Maria because of jealousy towards

Ustaz Adam’s happiness and life. Furthermore, Ustaz Adam is more knowledgeable
in religious teachings and that made Ustaz Azman envied him more. In minimizing

this issue, Ustaz Azman should control himself from being too jealous of what other

people have and be grateful with what that God gift. In order to change himself, Ustaz

Azman should have all the positive attitudes which consist of belief, feelings and

intention.
