ATTENDANCE
- Attendance for each laboratory session is mandatory!
- DO NOT BE LATE! Each laboratory session starts with the lecture. Instructors will not
tolerate any interruptions.
- Laboratory lectures (slides) will be posted on blackboard before the given laboratory.
However, some changes may occur due to last minute alterations.
- Make-up policy:
- If you miss the laboratory, you are required to show official documentation for
your absence (e.g. doctor’s note, police report).
-Steps to make-up your missed laboratory session in another session:
1 – Check the lab schedule below to check which date you can make up the lab. (i.e.
2 – Contact the instructor you are planning to make-up your missing session in
advance to ask permission to do so!
3 – Confirm the make up lab permission with your instructor. Give documentation
to your regular lab instructor
- If you are caught cheating you will fail that exam automatically, no exceptions, no
arguments!
Lab Safety:
· Do not eat or drink in the laboratory.
· Notify your instructor immediately if you are pregnant or have medical conditions that need
special laboratory precautions.
· Please be respectful of your classmates, lab equipment and the lab instructors.
· Familiarize yourself with emergency exits, fire extinguishers and blanket, first aid kit,
eyewash station, chemical shower, biohazard container, and broken glass container.
· Immediately notify your instructor of all spills, accidents, or damaged equipment.
· Wash your hands with soap and water before leaving the laboratory.
· Wear disposable gloves when working with body fluids, dissections, or chemicals.
· Properly dispose of waste material, chemicals, or body fluids as directed by your
instructor.
· Follow any other specific safety measures given by your instructor

EXAMINATIONS AND EVALUATIONS:


- Laboratory:
- Laboratory examinations
- Laboratory grade will be the average of exams
- Examination format will be explained during the laboratory sessions
- FINAL COURSE GRADE: 50% of lecture exams, 70% of laboratory exams,
30% participation and attendance

POLICY ON INTEGRITY:
Academic honesty is expected of all Queens College students under all circumstances. Students
found guilty of academic dishonesty, such as plagiarism or cheating on an examination, are
subject to disciplinary action, including suspension or dismissal from the college.
