ANTIFOULANT

Description DA 2301 is a multi-component antipolymerant,

antioxidant, dispersant, metal deactivator and oxygen
scavenger being an orange, liquid with an hydrocarbon
odour.

Uses Ideal applications are Ethylene plant towers and

reboilers for de-ethanisers, depropanisers, condensate
strippers and debutanisers.

Features Specifically, the type of foulant material that is

suppressed by DA 2301 is a rubbery substance that is
difficult to characterize with respect to monomer
structure. The most common foulant precursor that this
rubber resembles is butadiene. However, many other
highly reactive species in the typical ethylene cracker
product stream have been known contributors to the
formation of the polymer.

Applications The chemical is usually injected into the tower feed.

Fouling control of down stream equipment is also
possible from one upstream injection point.

Dosage DA 2301 has proved to be effective in the 25 - 50 ppm

dose rate range based on the tower bottoms rate.

Benefits Can control downstream units from one injection.

Greatly extends reboiler/tower run-lenghts.
Saves reboiler cleaning/turnaround costs.
Flows with bottom stream until decomposed at higher
temperatures.
Decomposition products are innocuous C, H, O and a
small amount of N.
Ethylene plant experience with DA 2301 has shown no
negative impact on downstream operation or product
quality.
DA 2301 contains a patented free radical
scavenger with stability upto temperatures as high as
2200C.

Handling Do not dilute with solvents from ethylene process

unit. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flames.
Keep containers closed. Observe any warning labels
on product container. Other precautions for process
chemicals apply.

Health Information
Avoid breathing vapours and contact with skin, eyes
and clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling. In
case of eye contact, immediately flush with plenty
of water for at least 15 minutes. Call a physician.

Material DA 2301 is compatible with Viton and Teflon. In

Compatibility addition the product contains no organic halides,
heavy metals or other substances known to be harmful
to petrochemical processes or equipment.

Packaging DA 2301 is available in 180 kgs nett MS drums or

EASY DOPER returnable bulk containers.
