(3) All the mix trials and tests described in this Clause shall be carried out under the direct
supervision of the Contractor ’s RCC quality control expert approved by the Engineer and
representatives of the Engineer.

6.2.7.6. Full Scale Trial Embankment

With the intent of determining and veri펴Ting various test results achieved through trial
mixes and laboratory tests , the Contractor shall caπY out a full scale trial embankment on
experimental basis.
The trial embankment shall also be used for training the workers and plant operators who
will be assigned to the execution ofthe main RCC dams.
The following are the specific requirements related to the trial embankment:
(1) Minimum size ofthe embankment and site conditions
The trial embankment shall be built in a location with conditions sirnilar to what is
required for the permanent RCC concrete works. The Contractor shall select the location to
suit its convenience and propose the location for the inspection and approval of the
Engineer.
The first trials shall be done using minimum 10m3 compacted of each candidate mix the
Contractor proposes for each of the two specified project mixes. Main object of this
primary trial is to see workability, compact ability, segregation, etc. that can be obseπed
while the mix is spread and compacted. The best candidate mix shall be selected through
this operation.
For the secondary trial embankment, at least 2,500m3 total compacted RCC using the
candidate mix selected for the two specified mixes shall be used in at least six layers ν
