ABSTRACT

Today the user base of the internet is more diverse than ever. The amount of

technology has increased, its forms have diversified, and information and communication

technology has gradually become an integral and common part of people’s lives.

The study focused on determining what factors influenced or urged the

respondents to behave unethically on social media specifically Facebook.

Data were collected from51 Senior High School students from the Notre Dame of

Midsayap College, Midsayap, North Cotabato. A survey questionnaire was used in order

to obtain data from the respondents. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive

statistics in order to address the research questions.

The result of the study indicated that though there are some Senior High School

Dameans who tend to rant unethically on Facebook because of various factors like

depression and heartbreaks, majority of these active Facebook users prefer to be low-key

and not publicly broadcast their heartaches. However, there are still some who do rant

and according to the results, the above mentioned factors are what most likely triggered

them to do so.
