Test: Penetrant Test 100% (Weldment and Body/Pipe)

Scope : 7 Rings / Coils of stainless steel material (Gr. 304) require Penetrant Test : 100%
for all weldments and 100% of pipe body.
The 7 rings all located inside a vertical cylindrical pressure vessel. Main dimension of the
pressure vessel is about 2.5 meter height & 2.8 meter diameter.
4 rings (outer rings) are 2.3 meter in diameter and the remaining 3 rings (inner rings) are 2.0
meter in diameter. All are composed of 1 1/2 inch Gr.304 pipe.
Additionally, there are supports welded to these rings (inner to outer ring support, ring to
tank side wall, etc.). Estimate this support portion to be an addition 10% of area for the PT.

4 Rings :
Ring Diameter 2,300 mm
Pipe Diameter : 1 1/2 inch / 48.3mm
Area : 4 X 1.0964 m2
: 4.3857 m2

3 Rings :
Ring Diameter 2,000 mm
Pipe Diameter : 1 1/2 inch / 48.3mm
Area : 3 X 0.9534 m2
: 2.8602 m2

∴ 7 Rings :
= 4.3857 + 2.8602
= 7.2459 m2 → (include 10% for support welding/misc.)
