Book & Art

Literature comes from the

Latin Word “Literatura” and is taken
from “litera” which means letter or
writing that is taken through
spoken/oral or written accounts.

In my own definition, Literature is a

collection of Art and Writings that
showcase the culture, origin and
history of a particular thing. I use
the Books and Art to represent the
Literature because, first of all
writings can be found on different
forms of paper like the book.

Book is a wide and broad collection of writings about the literature. For example
the fables, myths, stories, prose and poetry. These are different forms of oral and
written literature. In other hand, Art is also a visual representation of literature
because it shows the history and beauty of something in a creative and
imaginative strategy or work. For example, the drawings, paintings, sculptures,
and films are different types of arts. It does not only visualize the literature but it
also gives a deeper meaning and understanding of the literature itself. By these
representations of literature, humankind is able to know and learn the literature
of different people across the world.

But why do you think people wrote literature? First is Self-Expression

because they are able to express their feelings and emotions freely and
wonderfully in their own way of writing. Second, is to spread knowledge and
information to everyone. Third, is to pass on ideas and culture. The rapid
changing of time accounts also to the growing and evolving set of cultures and
beliefs, that is why literature is also used to pass on the culture and history as well
as preserved it. And lastly, is to impart the truth, accuracy and evaluation.
Rather from entertainment and knowledge, literatures also give wisdom and
help us to excel morality in every way. Improve and change the perspectives of
someone into positivity and purposely behavior.

Overall the qualities of Great Literature such as: Permanence, Universality,

Artistry, Intellectual Value, Spiritual value, Style and Suggestiveness will have a
great effects to the humankind and its environment.

To conclude, Literature is one of the most important and essential thing in

the world because it depicts rich culture and history of the world and the
mankind itself.
