 About the Company:
Sonata is a global software services company, that enables successful platform based digital
transformation initiatives for enterprises. Sonata software ltd. has titled Sonata to showcase
digital transformation technologies for retail and distribution industries. Our commitment
and expertise in delivering IT projects is the reason why we are the most trusted secvice
partner of Fortune 500 companies across the world in software development. It is a thing
of great pride for us that many of these relations have continued over a long period of time.
In India, Sonata Software is the largest software system provider in front-end technology
development services to help the client in maximizing the effectiveness and productivity of
their investment. Sonata is giving more importance in a specific area of R&D centre, like
focus on technology, branding services and software engineering. For an IT sector
company, Sonata has an alliance with Global IT companies such as Microsoft, Oracle and
Lotus to access new technology. Sonata Software is also doing research in the area of e-
commerce which includes services like Web enablement, Technology development
services and Business Intelligence.
The company do a lot of CSR activities under its Corporate Social Responsibility
Programme. The company mainly focus on Education, Employability, Heritage
Conservation, Livelihood enhancement, Environment Sustainability, Technology
Incubation, Promoting Art, Craft and Culture and Public Libraries under its CSR
programmes. Sonata support many organisations which work for improving the livelihood
of traditional crafts people and helps preserve and sustain our heritage. The company
collaborate with some selected institutes like primary and middle schools in rural areas and
remote areas. These schools provide education and capability building to improve skills
and helps individual to improve his/her potential. Sonata software collaborates with some
organisation which actively involved in preserving our rich cultural heritage and also
raising awareness among the general public towards our rich cultural heritage.
Sonata Software Ltd. mainly allocates its total CSR budget in a different programme. They
spent their CSR amount on eradicating hunger, poverty and malnutrition, promoting health
care and also making available safe drinking water. The company also promoting education
which includes special education and employment enhancing skills, especially among
children and women. The company also promote rural sports, national sports, Olympic
sports and paraolympic sports.
Both Sonata Software Ltd. and Udayan Care have objectives and mission to promoting
Education and Skill Enhancement, especially among children and women. Also, both have
a mission to empowering women and setting up homes for children and orphans. Sonata
Software Ltd. provides the fund to technology incubators. Udayan Care also runs a
programme named IT and Skill centres so the company should help through providing
technology support in Udayan Care IT and Skill centres.

 Conditions for Collaboration:

1. The company collaborate with non-profit organisations/companies which are
incorporated under section 8.
2. The company collaborate with a registered trust or a society/agency which have a three
year track record in undertaking these type of programs.
3. The process of the company of collaborating for CSR programmes with other
companies is that the CSR committee of the respective company is in position to report
separately on these programmes.

 Prior Connection:
1. IISc Bangalore:
The company spent some amount of its CSR towards promoting education by carrying
out various projects like research, education and outreach programs, developing a
website for CEDI-NITT and developing a collaborative teacher student app.
2. CEDI-NIT Trichy:
Sonata Software Ltd. and CEDI-NIT Trichy announced a partnership in April 2015.
Sonata Software Ltd. joins hands with CEDI-NIT Trichy to support the activities of
CEDI-NITT with funding support. In addition to technological and managerial support,
Sonata gave INR 120 Lakhs for three years starting from 2014-15. This fund primarily
used to support business incubation.

3. Chitrika Foundation:
Chitrika strikes a balance between retaining the authenticity of the craft and effectively
adapting to appropriate technology and fair business practices to leverage production
and cost afficiency. This creates prosperity for artians while playing fair with all service
providers. The company provides support to Chitrika in projects like Heritage
Conservation, Public Libraries, Craft and Culture and Promoting Art.
