Comparison of Supply chain:
A good supply chain strategy keeps an organization efficient. It involves improving
productivity, quality and efficiency of operations among other things.

The Arvind textiles buy the raw materials from

 Cotton from Punjab, Maharashtra, Rajasthan.

 Yarn from Punjab and Rajasthan
 Dye from China
 Starch from Ahmadabad
 Sodium hydroxide from Madurai

Caustic Soda from Ankieshwar. They stored this material in the warehouse which is
Ahmadabad.

But in the NSK textile they buy the cotton from these industries and they outsource for dying
and other activities.

 Raja shree cotton industries

 Amul cotton industries
 P.B cotton industries
 Kwarpa cotton industries
 Siddhi cotton industries

The Arvind mills design the dress based on the customer request. But in the NSK textile they
produce the dress in the mass production (same type of product).

The Arvind mills have their own brand shop and also they choose the retailers and distributor
for their product to reach the customer. The time taken to reach the customer is very low
because they use their own brand shop, distributors and local garments

But NSK textile chooses the distributor to reach the customer. The time taken to reach the
customer is high because they don’t have their own brand shop. They only dependent on the
distributor and retailers.

The Arvind mills have less production process when compared to NSK textile.

The Arvind mills have their own information system. They derive the information from the
Retailers and Distributor and also from the local garments. But in the NSK textile they don’t
have their own information flow system.

Arvind mills using pull strategy based on the customer request they design and produce the
product or dress.

But in the NSK textile they are using the push strategy, they produce the product or dress and
they push that to the customer.
