Symptom
After upgrading Excel to version 1806 or higher, Analysis Office (or other SAP add-ins) can no
longer display some controls in dialog boxes and task panes. If you revert Office to version
1805, this issue doesn't occur.
Some examples are:
Blank/empty Design Panel;

Microsoft Excel 2016 SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for Microsoft Office
Reproducing the Issue
Start Analysis for Office and insert a Data Source;
1.
Open the Design Panel or click to filter members;
2.
Confirm the symptoms above.
3.
Cause
The issue is caused by a recent update of MS Excel, resulting in compatibility issues in Excel
Add-Ins.
Resolution
To resolve the issue, update Office to version 1808, or a later version, and update Windows to
version 1809

Workarounds:
Workaround 1:
Until Office and Windows have been updated to the required versions, you can configure the
"When using multiple displays" setting in Office to "Optimize for compatibility" as shown below.
The issues should not occur in compatibility mode.
Go to Excel menu -> Options -> General tab;

Go to section "User Interface options";
2.
Select ""Optimize for compatibility" option for setting "When using multiple displays";
3.
Restart Excel;
4.
Workaround 2:
Revert Office to version 1805 or lower.
