SLM®500
The Selective Laser Melting Machine SLM®500 provides a large build envelope
of 500 x 280 x 365 mm³ and the patented multi-beam technology. In the
high-performance machine, four fiber lasers (4x 400 W or 4x 700 W) are in action
simultaneously, increasing the build-up rate by up to 90 % compared to the twin
configuration (2x 400 W or 2x 700 W). The versatile usable machine with high
productivity is perfectly suited for series production of complex metal parts
and specifically designed for use in the production environment. An extremely
comprehensive basic configuration and the large choice of options enable an
application-oriented machine configuration.

With a three times higher gas flow, the robust SLM® machine produces parts
with the highest density and surface quality. Soot is removed from the process
chamber efficiently and reliably, even for the longest-lasting builds.

Fronius Integrated Power Supply
Control Panel
The Arcemy™ 3DFAB systems comes with an integrated computerized control panel, power
source, wire and gas consumable storage rooms. These areas are accessible for wire change
operations and also have interlock mechanisms for safety.

Safety System
Integrated Safeguarding systems are modular and comes ready for assembly. System
includes an operation control box which contains start, stop, reset and emergency stop
buttons. The sliding gate mechanisms are fitted with interlocks which stop welding when
opened. This ensures safety for operators upon entering the work area.

Robotic support frame, Welding Table and Rotator

Welding tables are built for distortion control and can come with optional cooling & heating.
These tables have pre-drilled holes for secure clamping of workpiece. Build tables are fixed
for the small version, but on movable tracks for the standard and large options.

Rotators offer an additional 2 axis for flexibility and come in various sizes. Standard size
offered in all models has a payload of 750kgs a diameter of 2m plus full 360 degrees
rotation. The rotators also offer the option of headstock with the tailstock being mounted
on the end of the work table for building parts symmetrically.

Robot sits on a robotic support frame which is movable (2m length) and includes, framing,
supports, runners, special tooling and clamping.

WAMSoft® Software Operating Procedure

AML’s proprietary software is used to generate the robot deposition paths.

The 3D model in STL file format is sliced into several layers depending on a constant
thickness parameter. The slicing algorithm is robust and computational efficient and a series
of 2D polygons corresponding to each height layer is generated. Based on these slices,
different deposition paths can be generated by selecting between raster, contour, Medial
Axis Transform, or Hybrid (combination of the above three). The step-over distance
parameter is chosen based on the measured bead width. The robot code is automatically
generated, one file corresponding to one layer of deposition.

AML3D™ procedures are included which are built into the software, WAMSoft®. Once the
build path procedure is established for a component, repeating the process is not necessary
for similar or same components shapes. The procedure can be generally categorized into
four parts, namely preparation, production, post-production and certification. Each category
is sequential where the output of a preceding category is used as input as in the subsequent
categories. Therefore, accuracy in each step of the process is crucial to minimize the
propagation of errors.

AML3D™ procedures are included with the Arcemy™ and are comprised of specific build
parameters for different types of materials. These include WAM® process parameters and
specific build strategies to ensure high integrity metallurgy and defect free components.

Full support for WAMSoft® including upgrades and path-planning assistance, technical
back-up and metallurgical advice are included as part of the package.
