Penny’s Dog Sweater

CHEST DIRECTIONS
Using DPN use stockinet stitch to knit this section until it measures 2.5 inches from
end of rib section to the last row of this section.
Stockinet stitch directions:
Row 1 knit
Row 2 purl
Repeat these 2 rows until desired length. Leave stitches in DPN or use a stitch holder.
BODY DIRECTIONS
Knit the stitches on the circular needle using stockinet stitch until it measures 2.5 cm.

Row 2 purl
Repeat these 2 rows until desired length.
Once you have reaches the same length as the chest area, join all 56 stitches in
circular needle. Knit in the round until garment measures 8 to10 inches.
Change to rib pattern
Knit in rib pattern (k2, P2) until piece measures at least 10 to 12 inches. BO
SLEEVES
The “holes” left on either side are for the sleeves. You can omit making sleeves if you
wish.
Gather 20 or 22 stitches around the hole. Use DPN to knit in the round for 1 inch or
desired sleeve length. BO.
NOTE
This sweater has a braided cable stitch on the body. You can find this stitch
