CHAPTER–4

SOCIO-ECONOMIC PROFILE OF THE


RESPONDENTS

The Socio-economic profile of respondents play an important

role because if effects every of respondents day to day life. The

socio-economic profile the following variables have been included

as age, sex, religion, caste, education, marital status, occupation,

income, type of family and size of family of the respondents who

belongs to different socio-economic profile, the aspect about that

are as below:

4.1 Age

It is well established fact that the age is an important factor if

any according to their age they may have different degree of

awareness personality and value. The age distribution of the youth

personal are given the following table:

The above table shows that out of 100 respondents 45

respondents belongs to 18-23 age group 27 respondents belongs to

24-29 age group and 28 respondents belongs to 30-35 age group.

Thus, the fact reveals that majority of the (45%) respondents

belongs to 18-23 age group and one fourth (27%) of the

respondents belongs to the 24-29 age group.

4.2 Sex

Sex is an important variable which effects . . . according to

their effect aunties to perform in the society because the

classification of work in our society had decided is the basis of sex.

The above table shows that out of 100 respondents 56

respondents are male and 44 respondents are female.

Thus, the fact reveals that majority of the (56%) of the

respondents are male and large no (44%) of the respondents are

female.

4.3 Religion-

Religion is another important variable. Religion is asset of

beliefs symbols and practices which is based on the Idea of beliefs

into social-religious community. Religion plays an important role

in every body's day to day life and in performing of their religion

activities. The religion of the youth respondents person is given

the following table:

The above table shows that out of 100 respondents 97%

respondents are Hindus and 3 respondents are Muslims.

Thus, the fact reveals that more majority of the (97%)

respondents are Hindus and very few to respondents (3%) are

Muslims.

4.4 Caste

Caste is another important factors of an individual which

identifies the stages of particular individuals in both social and

occupational spheres. Caste has been over simplified by those

seeking an ideal type of rigid hierarchical social stratification bases

on extreme closer criteria the caste distribution of youth persons

given of the following table:

The above table shows that out of 100 respondents 74

respondents belongs to upper caste 19 respondents belong to

middle caste and 07 respondents belong to lower caste.

Thus, the fact reveals that majority (74%) of the respondents

belong to upper caste and very few number (07%) of the

respondents belong to the lower caste.

4.5 Education-

Education is the more important for any person in the

present study which may affect every aspect of life, without

education there is nothing in the present time the education level

of the youth persons in the given following table:

The above table shows that out of 100 respondents 27

respondents are primary level educated and 11 respondents are

higher educated and 28 respondents higher secondary educated 31

are graduate and 3 of the respondents are post graduate.

Thus, the one facts reveals that one fourth (27%) respondents

are primary level educated and the very few (3%) seyment of the

respondents are post graduate.

4.6 Marital Status-

Occupation is an important factor which effect of the life of

youth the position is decided by their occupation in their society.

The occupation of the youth us given the following table:

4.7 Occupation

Occupation is an important factor which effect of the life of

youth the position is decided by their occupation in their society.

The above table shows that out of 100 respondents 16

respondents are agriculture man 34 respondents are house wife or

3 respondents business or 10 respondents are labour or 10

respondents are services and 27 respondents their own student.

Thus, the fact reveals that the few number.

4.8 Income-

Income is an important variable because it decides our social

position also in the society. The income level of the respondents is

given in the following table:

The above table shows that out of 100 respondents 49

respondents belongs to income group of below 0-10000 37 of the

respondents belongs to the 10000-20000 income group, 07 of the

respondents belongs to the 20000-30000 income group, 3 of the

respondents belong to the 30000-40000 income group and 04 of the

respondents belong to the 40000-50000 month income group.

Thus, the fact reveals that majority (49%) of the respondents

are from 0-100000 (labour) income group and the very few number

(4%) of the respondents are from 40000-50000 (higher) income

group.

4.9 Type of Family-

It is also an important, family relation essentially the most

important source of support family does the important role play in

providing support. The family type of the older persons given the

following table:

The above tables shows that out of 100 respondents 70

respondents lives in joint family and 30 respondents lives in

nuclear family.

Thus, facts reveals that majority of the (70%) of the

respondents live in joint family and the large number (30%) of the

respondents lives in the nuclear family.

4.10 Size of Family-

Family is an important factor, family relations are essentially

the most important source of support, the family size of the rural

youth given the following table:

The above table shows that out of 100 respondents 43

respondents have small family size, 42 respondents have middle

family size or 10 respondents have large family size, and 5

respondents have very large family size.

Thus, the facts reveals that large no. of the (43%) of the

respondents have small family size and the very few number (5%)

of the respondents have very large family size.

4.11 Condition of Residence-

(i) Type of House-

To assess the economic status of the respondents are them to

enquire is considered appropriate that is condition of resident

which are known in the table:

respondents have pakka house and 4 of the respondents have

kaccha house.

Thus, the fact reveals that majority of the (96%) of the

respondents lives in pakka house and a few number (4%) of the

respondents lives in kaccha house.

To assess of the economic status of the respondents are item

to require is considered appropriate that is the no of rooms, which

we can know in the following table:

The above table shows that out of 100 respondents 78

respondents have 1-4 rooms 20 respondents have 5-8 rooms, 2

respondents have 9-12 rooms in their houses.

Thus, the fact reveals the majority of the respondents (78%)

belong to 1-4 rooms and very few (2%) of respondents belong to 9-

12 rooms in their houses.

4.11 (iii) Light and Ventilation

require is considered appropriate and that is separate kitchen,

which we can know in the following table:

SOURCE OF INFORMATION AND


KNOWLEDGE ABOUT HIV/AIDS

Sources of information and knowledge about HIV/AIDS in

rural area have been observe on reading newspaper, watching

television listening radio, consulting source and media tools.

It is observed that in the rural area, youth receive

information about HIV/AIDS from reading newspaper in terms of

yes and no.

In rural area, spread awareness about HIV/AIDS, media

tools plays very effective role to improve the level of knowledge

about HIV/AIDS among rural youth many media tools are print

media, social media, advertisement/T.V. smart phone and Ilogan.

ATTITUDE OF RURAL YOUTH TOWARDS


HIV/AIDS

The attitude of youth towards HIV/AIDS in rural area have

been observe in terms of hereditary, curable, prevented disease,

HIV + allows to attend or isolated, social function, reveal the

name, willingly get tested for HIV, isolated to society, hesitation to

setting.

AWARENESS ABOUT PREVENTIVE


MEASURES OF HIV/AIDS

In rural area observed how HIV/AIDS spread, wage of

condom, sharing of needle/syringes, vaccine treatment

availability, availability of drugs, physical relation with whom and

safe blood transfusion.
