Sub: UGC Specification of Degrees- Change of Nomenclature for Specialized

Courses run by University of Mysore.
Ref: 1) The Gazette of India, July, 2014- UGC Notification No.F.5-l/2013 (CPP-II).
2) Decision of the Faculty of Science & Tech., Commerce and Arts held on
April 2018.
3) Decision of the meeting of Dean's Committee held on 22.5.2018.

PREAMBLE:
The University Grants Commission (UGC) through its order cited under
reference (1) above has in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-Section (3) of
Section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956 and in supersession of all earlier Gazette
Notifications pertaining to the matter. has specified the nomenclature of various
degree courses.
The university has through decisions of respective Faculties and the Academic
Council changed the nomenclature of various degree courses offered under regular
mode, as per the UGC specification.
Now, it is proposed to change the nomenclature of all Specialized Programmes
to fall in line with the UGC specified nomenclature of degree courses. The Faculty of
concerned programmes have already approved -the same and the consent of the
Academic Council is awaited.

It is observed that due to delay in holding of meetings of various statutory

bodies of the University as a result of prevalence of election code of conduct, the
students would be put to hardship. Hence, the meeting of Deans and statutory officers
of the University held on 22.5.2018 recommended that the UGC specified
nomenclature be adopted immediately and marks cards and degree certificates be .
issued accordingly to all Specialized Programmes.

Hence, this notification is issued.

offered under specialized programmes of the University are changed in accordance
with the UGC specified nomenclature with immediate effect, as mentioned in the
