LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Through the guided inquiry learning model by digging information from various learning sources, simple
investigations and managing information, students are expected to be actively involved during the
teaching and learning process, have an inquisitive, timid and conscientious attitude in observing and are
responsible for expressing opinions, answering questions, provide criticism and advice and can explain
the development and concept of redox reactions, determination of oxidation numbers, oxidation
reactions based on oxidation numbers and oxidizers and reducing agents. And can present the results of
tracing information about roedox reactions, and can distinguish a redox reaction or not a redox reaction.

The concept of a redox reaction with the concept of element oxidation.

1. Development of the concept of redox reactions.

- The concept of releasing and binding of oxygen.

- Electron transfer.

- Changes in oxidation numbers and redox reactions.

2. Determination of oxidation numbers

3. Redox reactions based on oxidation numbers.

4. Oxidizing and reducing.

Basic Competence 3.9: Identify reduction and oxidation reactions using the concept of element oxidation
numbers.

Indicator:

3.9.1 explains the development of the concept of redox reactions

3.9.2 explains the concept of oxidation reduction in terms of the release and binding of oxygen

3.9.3 explain the concept of electron transfer

3.9.4 explains the concept of changing oxidation numbers and redox reactions

3.9.5 determines changes in the oxidation state of elements in compounds in the redox reaction
equation
3.9.6. determine the elements or species that act as reductors and oxidizing agents in a oxidation
reduction reaction in terms of the release and binding of oxygen, electron reception and release, and the
increase and decrease in oxidation numbers

3.9.7 determine the redox, autoredox and non-redox reactions in a reduction oxidation reaction in
terms of the release and binding of oxygen, the reception and release of electrons, and the increase and
decrease in oxidation numbers.

Basic Competence 4.9: analyze some reactions based on changes in oxidation numbers obtained from
experimental data and / or through experiments.

Indicator:

4.9.1 designs and tests redox reactions rather than redox

4.9.2 equalizes the redox reaction by changing the oxidation number (PBO)

4.9.3 shows reactions which are redox rather than redox based on experimental results

4.9.4 summarizes the results of reaction experiments based on changes in oxidation numbers
