Reynante V. Flandez, Principal IV of
FPFMNHS motivated all the teachers
by sharing them about the three love of
learning, the love of knowledge, love of
learners and the third is the combination
of the first two.

nito, kung wala tayong pagmamahal sa
karunungan, pagmamahal sa mag-aaral,
eh...hindi tayo magtatagumpay sa ating
propesyon.” he said.

past six months from June until the last
day of the classes before the semestral

In the opening program
of six months, there were so many
undertakings that had already been taken
place. Beacuse of that, he congratulated
all of them for doing their tasks 101
percent.
“Ibigay natin ang 101 support and
accomplishing our task dito sa ating
mga...sa ating paaralan at sa ating mga
mag-aaral.” he emphasized.
He pointed out that this is the thing
that they were asked for not only by the
Department of Education (DepEd) but
also by their own conscience.

evolution of ICT is changing the

teachers must cope up to this

must equip themselves with the
latest trends in technology and
because of that the lectures of San
Jose was very timely.
He quoted that ‘Technoclogy
is not the solution for the 21st
century education. It is only a tool
to aid education and learning.’
Also, he stated that ICT must
sustain and update the inssuance
of gadgets and that teachers
must undergo trainings and most
importantly moral and ethical
issues must address. Teachers

the proper use of technology

They were use in showing cause and effect
relationship, note taking, camparing
and contrasting concepts, organizing
problems, vocabulary building and
sequencing events.
However, she warned the teachers
that they should be able to identify the
appropriate organizer to use in their
lessons because different topics need
diffrent organizers.
For instance you cannot use a Venn
Diagram when you are teaching water
cycle in science because it is only use to
show the similarities and diffrences of a
person or thing.
At the end of her meaningful
discussions she quoted that ‘Every
teacher needs to improve not because
they are not good enough, but
because they can be even better.’
This quotation was just a sort of
reflection for the teachers. They need
to go out of their comfort zone. They
should not stop searching for more
innovations that they can aid them in
teaching.
Learners depend on the educators
when it comes to underdtanding the
world. Educators are the key to open the
portal of knowledge that will lead them
to a better future. They need to be fed
with information that will help them to
become successful.

are catering a generation Z learners
so teachers must check the kind of
strategies that they use and the way
they hanlde their learners. They must
see to it that they are using strategies
that suit the generation Z learners.
She pointed out that teachers must
be professionals and they have to
read a lot of researches and readings
about 21st century teaching but the first
thing they have to do is to understand
the characteristics of the generation Z
learners.
‘Iba ang kabataan ngayon. Ang
mga ‘hanash’ nila ay nasa social media,
nasa instagram, nasa fb, minsan pa nag
bablog pa sila about it.’ she said.
She emphasized that these
characteracteristics were the ones that
the teachers need to understand. They
must know that those were the ways
students think. They were products of
technology and sometimes teachers,
themselves seek the help of their learners
in doing their presentations which
means that teachers were not the only
ones who possessed all the knowledge
inside the classroom.
Also, she stated that according to
Education 4.0, teachers, just like what
Department of Education Secretary
Leonor Briones said, they should not
be afraid of technology because in
her opinion they can not be replaced
by technology or by robots. As long
as they were confident they could
not be replaced by robots or Artificial
Intelligent (AI). They must face the
challenge and they must be capable of
using technology before it’s too late.

EDUCATION 4.0 REVEALS TO TEACHERS

all felixian teachers about 21st century learners and their skills.
During the second day of the 2019 in-
service training for teachers, Paña shared
important information about Education
4.0. He started his discussion by
imparting to teachers the history of the
industrial revolution because this where
development of education started.
He also discussed the different
generations of the learners. Generation X
(Baby Bust) from 1919-1985, Xennials from
1975-1985, Generation Y (Millenials) Gen
Next from 1985-1994 and the iGen/Gen Z from
1995-2012.
According to him each generation of the
learners possessed diffrent skills and abilities.
Wherein Gen X is more on polital transition,
Gen Y (millenial) is more on globalization
while Gen Z is more on mobility and multiple
realities.
Teachers were dealing with the Gen Z
so they must focus on social networks and
technology to deal with them because this is
where they learn more.

rs. Haydee A. Niñalaga, a retired principal and directress, enlightened teachers

m about the true meaning of love for teaching that will ignite their enthusiam to teach
with love and compassion for students.
Niñalaga, in her talk, stated that teaching can
be meaningful in the light of the master teacher
which refers to God.
She explained love for teaching using the
acronym of the word love wherein ‘L’ stands
for learning that comes from others. ‘O’ stands for
Obedience to the Lord and Authority, ‘V’ stands
for Valuing your relationship and ‘E’ stands for
Endurance.
To make her discussion lively, she shared her
personal experiences when she was still
an ordinary teacher. According to her
she was just an ordinary teachers with
an extraordinary dream of becoming a
principal.
Also, her talk became even more
meaningful because she used bible verses to
explain the true meaning of love for teaching
and shared an inspiring video that depicted the
love of teacher to her student and vise versa.
