Fundamentals of The Personal Data Monitor and Assess Organisation’s

Protection Act (PDPA)
The Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) will ensure a
baseline standard of protection for personal data across
organisations by complementing sector-specific legislative
and regulatory frameworks. This course will provide you with
a good overview and understanding of the PDPA and how it
may be applied to organisations for compliance. This course
will be conducted using the PDPA BM WSQ Standard
Curriculum and Standard Assessment Plan developed by
PDPC. You will be awarded a BM WSQ Statement of
Attainment (SOA) issued by SSG upon successful completion
of course and assessment.

Personal Data Protection Policies
and Practices
(Data Protection Management – Level 1)
You will be able to understand the key obligations under the
data protection provisions of the PDPA. You will also
understand the tasks required to manage a data lifecycle by
understanding the steps of data collection, data storage, use
and disclosure, transfer, archival and disposal and how to keep
these in compliance with the PDPA. Lastly, you will have an
understanding on how to use data protection tools and
resources that organisations can utilise in order to comply with
PDPA.

Develop and Implement a Data Identify Risks Associated with
Protection Management Programme Collection, Use, Disclosure and
(DPMP) Storage of Personal Data
(Data Protection Management – Level 2) (Risk Management – Level 1)

You will be able to develop and implement a Data Protection
Programme that covers policy, processes and people for the
handling of personal data at each stage of its lifecycle –
collection, storage, use, disclosure, disposal and archival. Using
the accountability-based approach, you will also learn how to
establish good data management practices throughout the
personal data lifecycle.
You will understand basic data classification and risk
assessment techniques so as to enable them to identify,
assess and address personal data protection risks. At the end
of the course, you will be able to identify and resolve risks in
relation to data protection and DNC provisions, business
processes and data intermediaries. You will also learn how to
conduct a Data Protection Impact Assessment.

You will acquire risk identification and assessment techniques

for business processes, third parties and service vendors. You
will also learn how to process personal data electronically and
develop risk assessment report. At the end of the course, you
will be able to execute complex or advanced methods to
manage risks and safeguard stakeholders’ interests.
