2. Definition of an Entrepreneur

A person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal
financial risks in order to do so. The entrepreneur is commonly seen as an innovator, a source
of new ideas, good services and business/procedures.

What does it take to be an Entrepreneur?

Being an entrepreneur is a high-risk project, but if you succeed, the rewards will be very
rewarding. Therefore, to be an entrepreneur is necessary:

 Have a great idea (if you have a great idea, it will be important to evaluate if it is a
realistic idea. Think about cost, manufacturing time, and popularity);
 Write a business plan (include details and descriptions as well as all the steps of the
plan realistically and use all the time required to evaluate the product in each session);
 If you prefer, you can start working without writing a business plan (creating a
business plan is a work of imagination and projection of what might happen in the
future. However, many things can end up changing over time and you need to be
innovative enough to find the solutions to the new challenges);
 Search for investors (if you have a good idea, investors will like to inject money into
your company);
 Sell (do everything you can to sell and distribute the product and you will be testing
theories about the market);
 Contact business partners (by socializing with other business owners, you will get
important contacts and be informed about the opportunities they are appearing).
