Course Assessment and Award
A Certificate of Successful Completion will
be issued to participants who achieve a
minimum of 80% class attendance and
passed the course examination.

Participants pursuing the full SCEM
programme may apply for course fee
subsidy under NEA’s training grant. To be
eligible for the training grant, participants
must have a degree with at least 1 year of

Joseph obtained his B. Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from
Univ ersity of Glasgow in 1995. He has been working in the HVAC
and Energy Conservation related industries for more than 10 years
and possesses in-depth knowledge about air-conditioning relates
to Energy Conservation opportunities. As an accredited KQP and
Director of G-Energy Global, he leads a team in executing energy
solutions demand generation programs that complement the
current green building portfolio with focus on Energy
management and Green Mark Advisory Serv ices.

About the SCEM programme
The programme env isions a SCEM (Singapore Certified Energy Manager) as a competent energy professional equipped to
perform technical & managerial functions as a qualified person in energy auditing works (at level III), energy performance
contracting and project management, energy efficiency analysis, energy economics and financial assessment. He or she
is also expected to carry out data analysis, identify saving potentials and make sound recommendations and proposals.
This programme is recognised by the Association of Energy Engineers (US-AEE) as equivalent to their Certified Energy
Manager (CEM) certification programme. Applicants who process the SCEM certification at professional lev el are eligible
to apply for AEE-CEM® through IES.

Eligibility for SCEM Certification

Candidates must possess degree with at least 2 years of relev ant experience, and successfully complete the SCEM
course within 1 year, which comprises of 4 compulsory modules and any 2 from the elective list. For more information

APPLICATION FOR SCEM TRAINING GRANT

The SCEM Training Grant is a co-funding scheme administered by NEA to dev elop local expertise and capability
in professional energy management.
Eligibility for SCEM Training Grant
Candidates who sign up for the full SCEM Programme at Professional Lev el are eligible for the Training Grant.
In addition, Candidate must:
• hav e a Degree
• hav e at least 1 year of relev ant engineering experience; and
(Applicant must furnish a company's letter of support, from current employer, stating support for SCEM training
and Grant application)
• be a Singaporean or Permanent Resident

Conditions
• Qualifying candidate need only pay a one-time fee of S$963.00 (with GST) upfront for the full 144-hour professional
lev el SCEM Programme. The NEA would subsidize the rest of the fees.
• Candidate must achiev e at least 80% class attendance and attended the course examination.

• Completed form must be sent to Enrollment OIC (SCEM programme), BCA Academy, 200 Braddell Road,
Singapore 579700 at least one week before the course commencement date.
