Estimate of the Wastewater Generated

The estimated wastewater generated was based from the monthly water bill of Xentro Mall
Roxas from March to September of 2019. The following data were obtained from Roxas Water
District.

Average Monthly Water Consumption = 2285 + 2635 + 3246 + 3571 + 2602 + 2670 + 2584/7 =
2,799 cu. meter per month. On average, the daily wastewater generated of the mall is estimated
at 93.3 m3 /day.

Projected Wastewater Quality

As Xentro Mall is a commercial establishment for the general public, its water quality is
expected to be at the drinking quality standard as stipulated in DAO 2016-08. Based from the
stores found inside the mall, the totality of its wastewater would mostly come from contaminated
water from dishwashing in restaurants, cleaning of facilities, and human waste from restrooms.
Hence, projected wastewater may contain a lot of organic matter resulting in high BOD levels.
Other significant effluent quality parameters are total suspended solids, oil and grease,
surfactants, and fecal coliform

Coverage Area or Population and Discharge Points

Xentro Mall Roxas will be considered as a commercial type of establishment. Area covered by
the mall is estimated at 11, 490 m2 , excluding the parking space allotted for vehicles. The
average daily visitors of the mall is projected to be 800 people including the mall’s personnel and
workers of commercial establishments. Restaurants found in the mall’s second floor are Mang
Inasal, La Kusina Restaurant, Snack Time, Turks, and around 20 kiosks on the ground floor. The
mall also has a total of 6 comfort rooms for both men and women. Other commercial
establishments located in the mall are one grocery store, one appliance center, two cinemas, one
department store, and five other commercial establishments.
