INDISEC: India’s Most Comprehensive Expo Cum Summit on
Cyber and Technology in Internal Security

S ecurity is an increasing challenge for individuals, institutions, businesses, and the nation. Security and peace
are the prerequisite and essence of good governance for the civilized existence of a society. Be it internal
security or securing the cyber space, they will be achievable only with everyone’s cooperation, an intelligent
policy and consistent practices.
India is constantly facing growing challenges arising from cyber-crimes, physical crimes, economic frauds,
insurgency, cross border developments etc. With the exponential growth of connections, increased subject
knowledge and easy availability of tools, cybercrimes committed by individuals or organized crime groups have
far-reaching implications. The corporate sector may have to face consequences, such as business disruption
and loss of sensitive information, including intellectual property and trade secrets, loss of reputation and brand
name, & ofcourse financial losses.
Cybercriminals are focusing on public infrastructure to disrupt services and cause mayhem as new targets are
emerging and expanding throughout the world. The difficulty of estimating the actual cost of damages from a
cyber-attack adds complexity to planning for critical infrastructure protection. The present cyber threat landscape
is complex, dynamic and evolving in terms of the tools and approaches. Cyber criminals have sophisticated their
strategy to increase the strength of their attacks and also preserve their cover for as long as possible. The pattern
of the cyber-attacks has become more complicated and more difficult to identify and mitigate. There is need for
government and Organizations to be fully cognizant of the menace posed by advanced cyberattacks and need of
building a cyber defense is a priority. While a multi-layered approach to security minimizes the probability of
infection, it’s also critical to prepare end users and boost them to espouse best practices.
Another area of concern is Security in Digital payments and Rise in Digital payments frauds in India. As we move
into a cashless economy, there is always going to be questions raised over the security in digital payments.
Countries across the world have seen numerous advances towards cybersecurity measures. Considering that
India is still at an early adoption stage of its digitization journey, it is absolutely critical that the right environment for
digital payments include a comprehensive cyber security strategy supported by a robust framework to help all
stakeholders involved in the ecosystem. .
As the industry moves into the development of future technologies, police forces and forensic departments needs
to continuously evolve at a faster pace in this digital age. There is huge scope on how AI and big data technologies
can be applied to Indian Security System by Predictive crime mapping, predictive analytics of individuals such as
re-offenders, analytics of data collected by CCTV’s or social media or even real time sharing of data within all
police stations of all states including remote areas..
ASSOCHAM lauds the Government’s pro-active efforts and while doing so emphasizes that interaction with the
concerned stakeholders on ongoing basis is an urgent imperative.
ASSOCHAM for the past many years, through the Annual Summit on Cyber & Network Security, being officially
Supported by the Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India has created a platform for the Central
Ministries, State Governments, Academia, Industry and other global stakeholders to come together and
deliberate on the way forward.
ASSOCHAM proposes to organize the “INDISEC: Cyber & Internal Security” India's Most Comprehensive EXPO
& Summit on Monday, 17th Feb, 2020 at Hotel Le- Meridien, New Delhi with an objective for global stakeholders
to come together and deliberate on this critical subject of national importance and the way forward.
