STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I am Yash. I write this letter with a request for obtaining my student visa permit so that I can
pursue my higher education in Canada. Kindly allow me to provide you with a brief
introduction about myself. In my academics, I did reasonably well where I secured a 7.8
CGPA in class 10th and then opted for the commerce stream in class 12th and achieved 64%
aggregate marks. After this, I decided to pursue my career in the management field primarily
since there are so many opportunities that interest me. I wish to study one of the programs,
i.e., Business diploma, at St. Clair College, Canada, as I have a lot of interest in learning the
different roles in the management fields. Thus, I am applying for a study permit in Canada.
My ultimate goal is to set myself into management, and more where I can use my skills and
disciplines to help organizations achieve their goals and objectives.

I have been an active volunteer in various social work in and around my city. In my leisure
time, I like to sketch and paint. During my studies, I participated in many debate competitions
and showed exemplary performance in them. It is due to my communication skills that I was
able to completely dominate my competitors in the debates and win over them. Moreover, I
want to use my skills and disciplines to help achieve goals in the organizations I will work
for.

My father is a government employee in the Cooperation department of the state of Haryana,

and my mother is a homemaker. My grandmother is a pensioner getting the family pension
from the state and central government of Haryana. I also have a younger brother who is
currently studying in class 4th and my younger sister is studying in B.com 1st semester.

During my studies, I worked hard on my skills, such as communication, analytical, research,

reasoning, teamwork, and more. These are important for me to get an excellent job in the
management sector. Thus, I did a study and found that strategic management is just the right
course for me to improve upon them and become a capable person. I have always wanted to
succeed and push myself.

Although my past education is in Commerce, I have a desire to deepen these skills, and to use
the material that I have learned. I realize it can be tough for a returning student; however, I do
not believe in quitting. I have always wanted to succeed and pushed myself to my personal
goals. Success here is twofold. First, it is a personal success for me in the program. Next, it is
my commitment to give you my very best, by learning business theory and taking it to the
classroom and beyond. If I am accepted, you will not be disappointed; you will find me to be
a committed and capable student.

I have chosen this course because it seems tailored to my competencies. Through this course,
I will learn about the different roles that are needed in today’s businesses. I will also gain
extensive knowledge about the diverse management sectors, which will enable me to make a
clear decision about where exactly I intend to work in. Moreover, I can develop specific skills
and abilities that will help me in analyzing the issues in real-time business environments and
provide effective solutions for them. One of the key attributes that most businesses look in
individuals today is their ability to solve problems, which is where the critical thinking and
problem-solving skills become necessary. The well-structured management course will
provide me with an excellent background and strengthen my foundation of how to handle and
solve problems.

Out of the many educational institutes, I choose to study at St. Clair College Campus because
of its brilliant course programs, especially business programs. Studying here is entirely
relevant to my current and future interests. The course that I have applied for in this college
will expand my knowledge about the management sector. This would be much better than
pursuing the same direction from my home country or any other place. It is a good chance for
me if I get selected to broaden my horizon within my chosen subject and expertise. I can
further polish and expand my theoretical and practical knowledge that I will gain during the
period of this course. Studying a business diploma from this college will allow me to become
more flexible and adaptable that I always wanted to excel in the field of management.

Studying from St. Clair College will undoubtedly help me in my future career. Since
management is one of the areas that interests me the most, this course will allow me to learn
about it in depth. It will provide me with the core and essential support that I need. I want to
strengthen my understanding of developing core business and management strategies.

One of the reasons for me to study in Canada is the excellent quality of life and education that
universities and colleges provide to international students. It brings rewarding opportunities
and an experience that will beneficial for me in more ways than I can imagine. I am sure that
once I come back to India, I will be more competent than I am at present. This will
undoubtedly help me get the job that I’ve always dreamt of. This incredible opportunity will
massively improve my employability as the course will assist me in learning new skills while
I stay here.

I appeared for IELTS earlier this year and scored an overall 6.0 bands. This fulfils the
college’s requirements.

I am thankful to my parents for providing me with all the necessary financial support so that I
can pursue my course in Canada. I paid 15000 CAD for the entire year’s fees in this college.
Furthermore, I have also deposited GIC amounting to 10230 CAD for my living expenses.

I am quite capable of taking the challenges of a post-grad school and will complete my course
in time. I assure you that I will make this premier institute proud of my future career. My
academic goal is to complete the strategic management course from St. Clair College and
then pursue my employment in the marketing sector. Thus, after completing this course, I
will come back to India and start working in a corporate company.
