Mathematics plays a very crucial role in our daily lives.

It deals with problem which involve a

Process of analysis

Computation

Other mental skills.

The significance of the study is to be an eye opener to everyone that Mathematics is just easy if you give time to work and it can be your friend if you have a perseverance to learn.

Statistics are the method of conducting a study about a particular topic by collecting, organizing, interpreting, and finally presenting data.

Probability is the study of random events. It is used in analyzing games of chance, genetics, weather prediction, and a myriad of other everyday events.

Probability and statistics are closely linked because statistical data are frequently analyzed to see whether conclusions

can be drawn legitimately about a particular phenomenon and also to make predictions about future events.

Studying probability and statistics will allow you to see the different perspective since the

subject will give you knowledge that you can apply to our real life situation.

Research topic is all about Statistics and Probability so our target people is Senior High School (Grade 11) in Sindalan High School. Statistics is about gaining information from sets of data.

The researchers will be focus to the Grade 11 students of Sindalan High School were the respondents are under the K-12 curriculum at their age of 16-18 years old.

The subject matter content was limited to discovering the hindrances of every Grade 11

student in the said topic. The researchers will get 10 respondents in the interview/survey.

Chapter I: SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

Statistics and Probability

To know the hindrances and learning competencies of the Grade 11 students in Sindalan High School .

To help the teachers to understand and to know the limitations and student skills

To help the teachers to understand and to know the limitations and student skills

To help and guide the future researchers to better understand the same study.

Chapter I: DEFINITION OF TERMS › Crucial - extremely important. › Hindrance - a person

Chapter I: DEFINITION OF TERMS

Crucial- extremely important.

Hindrance- a person or thing that makes a situation difficult: a person or thing that hinders someone or something.

Abstract- relating to or involving general ideas or qualities rather than

specific people, objects or actions.

Innovative- introducing or using new ideas or methods.

Subconsciously- existing in the part of the mind that a person is not aware of existing in the mind but not consciously known or felt.

Complicated- hard to understand explain or deal with having many parts or steps.

Sophisticated - having or showing a lot of experience and knowledge about the world and about culture, art literature, etc.

Preference - an advantage that is given to some people or things and not to others.

Linked- having or provided with links.

Legitimately- allowed according to rules, real, accepted or official.

Phenomenon- something (such as an interesting factor event) that can be observed and studied and that typically is unusual or difficult to understand or explain fully.

Predictions- a statement about what will happen or might happen in the

future.

Sensible- having or showing good sense or judgement.

Likelihood- the chance that something will happen.

Intimate- to say or suggest (something) in an indirect way.

Excel- to better than others, to be or do better than others.

Essential- extremely important.

Notion- an individual's conception or impression of something known, experienced or imagined. Interconnected- mutually joined or related.

Simulation- something that is made to look, feel, or behave like something else especially so that it can be studied or used to train people.

Inherent- belonging to the basic nature of someone or something. Implication- a possible future effect or result.

Anonymity- the quality or state of being unknown to most people: the quality or state of being anonymous.

REVIEW RELATED LITERATURES

Henry and Paryzsz (2011) provided perspectives on the use of computer simulations for linking the frequentist and the classical approaches to probability given the emphasis or teaching both in French High Schools

Benzvi, Makar, Bakker and Aridor (2011) brought out the notion of probability withinin informal statistical inference.

Stigler (1986) According to his idea that the nature of probability and statistics has a lot of branches and sub-topic that they need to learn and understand

Nilsson and Pratt (2003) Brought out the importance of providing students with an experimental situation and computer tools that can help them experience the dual notion of probability.

The researchers use qualitative research study approach

as the research method in order to gain the perception

and the insights of the Grade 11 students on the study

of Statistics and Probability to know the hindrances on the implementation of the curiculum of Statistics and Probability. Qualitative research methods originated in

the social and behavioral sciences. Sociology,

Anthropology and psychology. It is an approach

designed to gather the ideas, perceptions and the understanding of the reasons, opinions, and motivation of the participants about the topic or issue. It is also

acts as the guide or support in making the study by

knowing a specific issue or trends in order to seek deeper to the problem. Observations and interviews

were conducted by the researchers as their technique in this study to gather the information related to the topic of this research. The information given by the

participants of this study were collected by targeting a

specific sample since Grade 11 are usually large in number

The researchers obtained 10 populations in this conducted

study consisting five (5) and five (5) which are the population

of the female Grade 11 students and male Grade 11 students,

respectively. In this study the researchers acquired a sample

In gathering the data. The researchers will use purposive sampling. A purposive sampling is a non-probability sampling where in the technique in selecting participants are based on their

characteristics and the objective of the study. This

research was conducted on Grade 11 students

with the participants aging from 16-18 years old.

In this case, the population for this study are all Grade 11 students people and their perceptions/ insights regarding the ups and downs of Senior

High School on the implementation of the

curriculum of statistics and probability.

This study was focused only in Grade 11 students of Sindalan High School. The purposive sampling method was use to obtain the perception of ten (10) participants about the presented topic by the researchers. It is important to have a permission

so that researchers will be able to gather data and

information needed on their study. The request letter will be signed by the school's head or principal of Sindalan High School for the researchers will proceed to next step. The

researchers will make a letter consent for the

selected participants so that no one will be offended. The researchers emphasize that the

purpose of this study is to know the hindrances and ups and downs on understanding statistics

and probability. Only the questions about the

study will be the main focus in interviewing the participants.
