PROGRAMME SCHEDULED ON 25.11.

We reached Academy Building Auditorium on 25.11.2018 at 8 am . We registered for the second day
from 8 am to 9 am and took breakfast. From 9 am the second day conference started with the topic
Neuro OrthopedicProspective where the chairman was the Chair person Prof. Nilay Kanti Das, HOD of
K.P.C Medical . Then Prof Sakti Das , Director of Swami Vivekananda National Institute of Rehabilitation
Training and Research Govt , gave knowledge about upper limb spasticity Management.

From 9;45 am , Prof A.K Purohit ( EX- President IACP) Ex professor and Head Department of Neuro
surgery , Nizams institute of medical sciences( NIMS) , Hydrabad discussed about selection Algorithm for
Neuro Surgical modulation of spasticity.

There was a panel discussion on Inter- disciplinary intervention where the chair person was Prof. Sakti
Das , Director , Swami Vivekananda , National Institute of Rehabilitation . Training and Research govt of
India and Dr. Abhisek Biswas Director National Institute of Locomotor Disability ( NILD) Govt of India.

Here they discussed about why the various disciplines are having problems to co-ordinate their activities
for. E.g the physiotherapist advice parents of CP child that PT exercises are more important to do than
correction of eye. So the vision of CP child gets neglected. From 11 am – 12 pm , Dr Lokesh Lingappa ,
Consultant Child and Adolescent Neurologist at Rainbow Children’s Hospital Hyderabad discussed about
Metabolic and geneticnBrain disorders as CP mimickers.

Under the Chairperson Prof. Madhu Mahadeviah ( Professor of Paediatrics KIMS), Banglore and Director
Spastics society of Karnataka ) Moderator, Prof. Dr Nandita Chatterjee, Developmental Paediatrician,
HOD Dept. of Paediatrics IQ City Medical College discussed about Indian Scenario and Social Perspective
. After that , Representatives from Multiple Stake holders from various organization like W.H.O, UNICEF,
NILD, GOI AND Cerebral Palsy and Neuro Developmental disorders.

After Lunch 1;30 pm to 2;30pm, Prof Roslyn Boyd , professor of Child Health Research Centre. Scientific
Director of the Queensland Cerebral Palsy and Rehabilitation Research Centre ( QCPRRC) University of
Queensland Australia gave knowledge about updates on International Alliance for academy of
Childhood Developmental disability.

Chairperson Dr Bed Giri ( Bhutan) and Prof Dr. Sukanta Chatterjee, Ex- President Growth Development
and Behavioural Pediatric chapter, Indian Academy of Pediatrics discussed about community and family
centered approaches.

Dr. Kath Benfer MPH, PhD, ( Brisbane ) Australia. The University of Queensland ( UQ) discussed about
learning through everyday activity with parents ( LEAPCP).

Prof. Nandita Chatterjee, Developmental Paediatrician HOD Dept, of Paediatrician IQ City Medical
College , gave lecture on Nutritional accepts of a child with cerebral Palsy.
Ms. Cathy Mak, Post –doctoral fellow and Research Co- ordinate, Queensland cerebral Palsy &
Rehabiltation Research Centre, The University of Queensland gave information regarding Mindfullness-
based parenting for parents of children with C.P .

Beda Giri, Director of Ability Bhutan discussed about Resource to support parents to provide community
based care.
