1. The Benefits of Technology in Education

2. Significance of Technology in Education
3. Effects of Technology to Students
4. Influence of Technology

B. Describe / Explain each issue in a maximum of two paragraphs.

1. The Benefits of Technology in Education

The benefits of technology in education are two-fold. Technology when used in

classrooms can indeed be used as a productive tool for students as they do work on
their assignments or tasks. Technology is also a good productive tool. Nowadays, there
is an emphasis on technology as a valuable constructive tool in education.
There are also societal reasons why technology is understood as a relevant and
important tool in education. The changes within society are not only evident for
educators but also for the public. And as schools depend to a certain extent on the
public’s perception of it, they recognize the potential for growth. The public perceives
that a ‘good’ school is a school that has technology.

2. Significance of Technology in Education

Technology is increasingly growing its importance in the education sector. The more
technology advances, the more benefits it provides for students at every education
level. Technology that is made use of in the classroom is very beneficial in helping the
students understand and absorb what they are being taught.

For instance, since there are a number of students who are visual learners,
projection screens connected to computers could be put in classrooms to let the
students see their notes as opposed to simply sitting down and listening to the instructor
teach. We need to face the truth, technology is the ‘in thing’ in the world today and it has
become necessary in each and every aspect of our lives and education has without
doubt not been left behind. It is very useful in providing more knowledge to our students
and also on making them competitive in the job market.

3. Effects of Technology to Students

Technology should be integrated as a tool to promote and extend student learning

on a daily basis. Technology use allows students to create, problem solve, research,
collaborate, and interact globally. Students that use technology as a tool and or a
support for communicating with others are in an active role rather than the passive role
of recipient of information by a teacher or reading textbooks. Students have the ability to
learn and express themselves in their individual learning style too.

When technology is introduced into a classroom, things change. Instruction through

computers give students more control over their learning environments and access to a
wider range of materials to use in the learning process.

4. Influence of Technology

Technology plays a large role in many aspects of day-to-day life, and education is no
different. Technology is rapidly changing the way students learn and how instructors
teach.

As technology continues to evolve, it brings with it new opportunities and challenges

for educators and students. Social networking is a great example of technology that can
help — or hinder — education, depending on how it is used and integrated into teaching
plans. Privacy and security are two concerns that can come with using social
networking in the classroom.

C. Choose among the issues indicate above, that has a great impact to you and
how it influences your belief/ behavior as future educator.

Influence of Technology in Education

Technology is a versatile and valuable tool for teaching and learning and becoming
a way of life. Technology in the classroom is both beneficial to students and teachers. It
creates new ways of obtaining and presenting information and gives students new ways
of analyzing and understanding the world around them.

D. Write your question/s or any insights and discoveries from your readings related
to your teaching profession. (Please answer the questions.)
Students had an increase in motivation when using technology. Because of
their willingness to work with technology as opposed to a normal classroom setting
of boring lecture, helps motivate students to learn. "Technology is the ultimate carrot
for students. It's something they want to master. Learning to use it enhances their
self-esteem and makes them excited about coming to school," stated a fifth grade
teacher.
Technologies also give an opportunity for students and teachers to learn from
a broader perspective of learning other skills. Instead of having the social norm of
"lecture, notes" type of classes, students get to be active in learning with such a
broad area of study.
