LESSON PLAN FOR STRESS DEBRIEFING

I. Learning Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the students be able to:
a. Conduct a variety of practical and fun stress reduction techniques.
b. Identify coping mechanisms that will help them minimize stress
c. Recognize the importance of Stress Debriefing.

II. Routinary Procedures

a. Motivation
Deep Breathing Exercise (Belly Breathing)
Purpose:
Students practice deep breathing techniques as part of stress reduction
Content:
Teacher/facilitator introduces and demonstrates the concept of deep breathing as a stress
reduction strategy that can be used in the present moment as well as an excellent skill to master to
more effectively cope with future stressors.
Procedure:
Teacher/facilitator has all students stand with comfortable space between each other or
seated in a chair. Provide students with the following directions:
1. Stand straight up with feet shoulder-width apart
2. Arms and hands are relaxed downward
3. Body is relaxed
4. Eyes closed
5. Focus on lower abdomen (belly) and imagine a small balloon in that space
6. Breath in slowly and deeply through nostrils, imagining the balloon inflating (getting
bigger/larger/growing) slowly, hold a few seconds
7. Slowly exhale through the mouth, imagining the balloon gently deflating (getting
smaller, shrinking); blow out of the mouth as if blowing out a candle
8. Tip: Place a hand over the lower abdomen to feel it go up and down, and make sure
you’re not breathing with the chest
9. Repeat at least 10 times Ask students how different their bodies feel after the exercise.
(Are they more relaxed/calm? Do they feel lighter? Great? Tired?)

III. Lesson Proper

Part I. Singing with Action


Students are tasked to sing the nursery rhyme OLD MCDONALD.
The class is divided into 6 groups and they will be named according to the animals found in OLD
MCDONALD’s farm
Gr.1 – PIG
Gr. 2 – GOAT
Gr. 3 – COW
Gr. 4 – HORSE
Gr. 5 – DUCK
Gr.6- CHICKEN

Part II. Blind Doodling


BLIND DOODLING

INSTRUCTIONS:
1 If you are right handed, use your left hand for doodling and if you are left-handed, use your right hand in
doodling.
2 Choose two (2) colors of your choice.
3 Close your eyes and start to doodle anything you want to do.
4 After 10minutes, open your eyes and see what image you have drawn.

PROCESSING:

1 Look at your image or picture. Notice how you feel about it.
2 Jot down the feelings that arise in you as you look at the picture.
3 Can you see an image in your drawing?
4 If you can, then become that image.
5 Give a name to it.
6 List the qualities of your image with a sentence beginning with “I am….
7 Look at the different parts of your picture: colors shapes, patterns, images.
8 What makes you choose those colors? What’s in the color?
9 Try dialogue with the different parts of the drawing, write down conversation.

Generalization
What you just did was to research on your inner resources. At your very depths is an INNER BEING or a
SPIRIT that is all positive, all good and which have limitless potentials and power. I hope they would bloom like a
beautiful flower inside you.
You can continue to nourish them and be a gardener of all these potentials and goodness that you have. As you do
this, I am sure the people around you will smell the fragrance and be blessed by your presence.

LESSON PLAN FOR PROVERBS 22:6

I. Learning Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the students be able to:
a. Reiterate the bible verse stated PROVERBS 22: 6
b. Perform the appropriate actions/manner in certain places and situations.
c. Recognize the importance of the said bible verse.

II. Routinely Procedures

- Greetings
- Checking of Attendance

A. Motivation: (Exploration)
Puzzle
The class is divided into 5 groups. Each group is given an envelope containing cut-outs of the bible verse
Proverb 22:6. They have to piece together and the verse and the first group to finish will be given equivalent points.
They will also have to recite the verse together.

III. Lesson Proper (Firm Up)


Story Telling; The Parable of the Wooden Bowl by the Brothers Grimm

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year-old grandson. The old man’s hands trembled,
his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather’s shaky
hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk
spilled on the tablecloth.

The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. “We must do something about father,” said the son. “I’ve
had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.” So the husband and wife set a small table in the
corner. There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since Grandfather had broken a dish
or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl! When the family glanced in Grandfather’s direction, sometimes he had
a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped
a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly,
“What are you making?” Just as sweetly, the boy responded, “Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat
your food in when I grow up.” The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though
no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.
That evening the husband took Grandfather’s hand and gently led him back to the family table. For the remainder of
his day, he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer
when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.

Moral: You reap what you sow. Regardless of your relationship with your parents, you’ll miss them when they’re gone
from your life. Always Respect, Care for and Love them.

Reflection (Deepen)

1. What is the morale of the story?


2. How can we relate the story to the bible verse we had just discussed?
3. As sons and daughters, how can we apply the moral of the story to real life situations?

Part II: Performance Task


Role Playing:
The class is divided into 5 groups, each group is given a situation on where they have to apply the
moral of the bible verse, Proverbs 22: 6
