INTRODUCTION

NAME AND ADDRESS OF BUSINESS

The name of our business is Jonota Labor Agency and it is located in Notun Bazar,
Dhaka. The location of the labor agency is selected on the basis of finding new labor and
finding jobs for them.

NATURE OF BUSINESS

The nature of our business is a social business. It means we are providing service to the
needy and to the low income people in the society who needs work and a better living
condition. In our business, we will contact with the developers and find out if they
require any workers and at the same time we are going to build a database of the workers
available for work. If the construction builders need any workers, we can then find out an
appropriate candidate for the job from our worker’s database.

STATEMENT OF FINANCING NEEDED

For our particular social business plan, we do not require many funds in order to find out
what jobs are available in the construction building industry. Even though we do not
require any financial support for the first phase of the business, we might have to spend
small amounts of money to pay the people we hire to make the worker’s database.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The following business plan is of our social business, Jonota Labour Agency, which will
be located in Notun Bazar, Dhaka. We plan to offer jobs to underprivileged people who
live in slums and the most congested parts of Bangladesh. The purpose of this plan is to
establish our business goals, the reasons why we believe that they are attainable, and the
plan for reaching those goals. This business plan also shows the feasibility and
achievability of our plan.

Our main objective is to provide as many jobs to unemployed people all over Bangladesh
and as we succeed in the first district of Dhaka, we will start our operation within 20
other districts and later we will spread our operations in the other districts of Bangladesh.
This is the strategy of our expansion.

We have taken all precautions to authenticate our business models, focusing on realistic
projections as much as possible.
As business owners, we also have a vested stake in the success of this venture. Therefore
we have tried to show all the relevant and possible strategies and risks of running this
enterprise and also have included a contingency plan. Our intent is to have a definitive
operational, marketing and human resource that not only serves our need for capital
financing, but is utilized as our daily business roadmap.
The total capital requirement to launch Jonota Labour Agency is less than 20, 00,000
taka of which the 4 partners will contribute to the capital equally.

Our Social Business Venture will be sure to succeed in these times as more and more
people in low income households or slums are being unemployed day by day due to their
lack of skills and lack of knowledge. And as new technologies are introduced almost
everywhere in the world, work has become more capital intensive than labor intensive
and we think our business will be able to help these people who have been put out of
work. Our business venture will also be able to help the society by enabling people to
better living conditions, as people will get jobs and earn money through our social
business. The construction builders will also be able to find people for work easily
through our worker’s database and their job of finding more people to work will become
easy. The construction builders have needs of many workers, with different skills and
knowledge and it is our database that will find the suitable worker with the set of skills
and knowledge required by the developers.

INDUSTRY ANALYSIS
Our social business plan is somehow unique because it only deals between two
intermediaries, the developers and the unemployed people. But there are many other
agencies in Bangladesh that help people by offering them jobs or recruiting them in some
way. One of the agencies similar to our in the industry is Bangladesh Recruitment
Agency. Another agency called Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting
Agencies (BAIRA) and it is an association of national level with its international
reputation of co-operation and welfare of the migrant workforce as well as its
approximately 700 member agencies in collaboration with and support from the
Government of Bangladesh.

FUTURE OUTLOOK AND TRENDS

Soon there will be many other social businesses such as ours to help the needs of people
in low income households and slums. There may be businesses that will operate to install
proper sanitation systems, recruiting people for other types of work instead of
construction. Some businesses might also look into the water supply and try to
decontaminate the water in urban areas and slums.

ANALYSIS OF COMPETITORS

As we have mentioned earlier, there are not many businesses that are similar to ours but
in the context of operations, we still high reconsider some of the businesses or NGO’s as
our competitors as they are doing the same thing that is, helping the poor and needy and
trying to give them a better life with better living conditions. Our main competitors in this
case are Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA) and
Bangladesh Recruitment Agency. They provide almost the same service but on a much
wider scale. Therefore, if BAIRA and BRA are considered as competitors, there are still
many variables to consider.
MARKET SEGMENTATION

As we are not a profit oriented company, we will not segment the market on the needs
and preferences of people. As we are a social business, we have to segment our market
towards low income households and they will be the one’s benefitting from the business.
Therefore, we will segment our market towards the low ends of the society and the most
underprivileged people in Bangladesh.

INDUSTRY AND MARKET FORECASTS

These particular industry of social businesses will keep on expanding because of the fact
that there are poor people all over the country and businessmen are trying to find out
solutions to problems such as proper sanitation, pure water supply, unhealthy
environment, etc and therefore social business like ours will be arising from time to time,
trying to help poor and needy people wherever they find in Bangladesh. As the numbers
of poor and needy people are high in Bangladesh, many new social businesses need to be
setup to try and help the people. From our perspective, many others have taken the
initiative to start social businesses and we should all support them on the basis of ethical
approach.

DESCRIPTION OF VENTURE
We, at, will provide jobs to underprivileged workers by creating a worker’s database
using some analysts and providing that information of workers to the construction
builders if they require any worker. The type of worker with the specific skills and
knowledge required by the construction builders will then be provided to the construction
builders as the worker’s database will find the most suitable candidate for the job. This is
how our business venture will continue to operate until it has enough information of the
construction builders and the unemployed workers throughout Bangladesh.

SERVICES

Our social business venture is about services and does not include any physical products.
We simply find the jobs suitable for people without jobs and then assign them to the
construction builders where they will work for a wage. Therefore, the main service
provided by our social business is the jobs that we provide for the underprivileged
people.

SIZE OF BUSINESS

Currently, the size of our social business will be small and as we succeed in the district of
Dhaka, we will extend our operation to the other districts of Bangladesh. First, we will
start our operation in Dhaka and if we succeed in providing enough jobs for unemployed
people of Dhaka, we will continue our operation within the 20 districts of Bangladesh
and later we will spread our operation in the rest of the districts of Bangladesh. Therefor
the size of our social business depends on the success rate of the venture. As we succeed,
we expand our operations.
OFFICE EQUIPMENT AND PERSONNEL
At first we will need some computers and printers, 2 or 3 to keep our worker’s database
and the construction builder’s information so that we can match and cross reference to
see what job suits what worker best. We will also need some analysts and computer
experts so that they can collect workers information and the construction builder’s
information and input it in computers in an orderly fashion. The computers can then be
used to find out what job will suit which worker most accurately.

BACKGROUND OF ENTREPRENEURS

representatives will go to the building developer’s offices and suggest them to get the
labors from our agency. We also focus on the people of slum and roadside people who
want work. We will inform them about our business.
Possible Benefit of Branding
From JONOTA’s Point of View
 Means of legally protecting unique features
 Signal of quality level to satisfied customers
 Means of endowing labor with unique associations

Brand will help us to organize labors and accounting records. This brand will also
offer us the legal protection for unique features of the product. A brand helps to retain
intellectual property rights, giving legal title to the brand owner. Brands can signal a
certain level of quality so that satisfied customers can easily choose the service again.
This brand loyalty provides predictability and security of demand for the firm and creates
barriers of entry that make it difficult for other firms to enter the market.

Branding

 Identification of source of product

 Search cost reducer
 Signal of quality

Our Brand identifies the source of service and allows consumers to assign
responsibility to a particular agency. From an economic perspective, our brands allow
consumers to lower search costs for products both internally and externally. Our Brands
can reduce the risk in product decisions. These risks involve functional, physical,
financial, social psychological and time risk.

Product Forecast
We know that Bangladesh is poor country and maximum people can’t afford their daily
foods. Our unemployment rate is 46%. So we think this business will achieve the goal
and that is remove poverty from this country. We will provide work to the poor people.
We can expand our business in future if we get positive response from the environment.

Place

Our main office will be in Badda, Notunbazar. Our main office in Notunbazar. The
Developers can hire our labor from our website or office. We will take 1 day to manage
the deal. Our agency is going to hire a truck and to deliver the labor from the office to the
recommended place.
To avoid unnecessary predicament in distribution the department will be
coordinated by the manager directly.

Controls

The owners of our agency will have effectual control over the whole operation from
recruit the labor to provide the services. It will not be possible for any of the owner to
stay consistently on the production plant. So a weekly report will be taken by all of the
members of the ownership. Owners will be present in all other official dealings all the
time. So the direct response to the official matters will reflect a clear control over the
administrative structure.

Assessment of risk:

Rick factors:
Uncertainty of weather conditions:

If the weather remains rainy then we don’t get any contract. Because in
the rain season or bad weather no one can work or build anything. It will hamper our
financial sector. To analyze and assess and take precautionary measures for avoiding
crisis, we have conducted sensitivity analysis to forecast the worst scenario that can befall
on the company because of any adverse climate conditions.

Cancellation of agreement:

Sometimes agreement can be cancel for different reasons. Like they can found better
labor agency than us, they can found low cost labor agency, they are not satisfy with our
labor etc.

Unavailable of workers:

Sometimes we can’t get enough labor for fulfill our demand. We need 200 labors in
morning but we are getting only 150 labor. So we have to manage with shortage labor.
Those are not their fault. Labor can work for other agency.

Contingency plan:

For a medium size company as ours exit plan could encompass the following
options:
 Profit will use only for expanding.
 Increase labor from 100 to 1000.
 Make them skillful.
From the above mentioned options, increasing labor should be the most feasible and
realistic option. If things turned for the worse, under this strategy Jonota Labor Agency
would include new branch. Brand positioning will also be needed to be changed in order
to accommodate the new branch. Transferring into the new strategy would not be
expensive, or very time consuming, staff, equipment will remain the same.
