University:
What skills/traits do you have that would make you a good university student?
I am an independent and hardworking learner which means I will be able to learn at my
own pace and teach myself. I have a visual imagination which helps me to visualise what
my work will look like. I am conscientious and I am able to take responsibility for my
learning. I enjoy learning and research and will be able to be more independent in my
learning. To go into a media course will be easy for me as I can write scripts and visualise
scenes. I have a vivid imagination but I hate group work as I am impatient and don’t like
waiting for others to make up their minds.
Pros and Cons of University.
More independence. Less regulated working (it’s up to you)
More experiences. It’s not for everyone.
Degrees can broaden options. It costs a lot.
UCAS

Honestly I like the look of this course and I feel I could do it. There also seems to be no
student accommodation and I’m not willing to travel to Swindon and back every single
day.

York College appeals to me as it isn’t too far from home and I can honestly see myself
excelling in the course. I honestly don’t see myself travelling there and back every day.
I have signed up for the
open day as I feel it will
give me a better look
into whether or not I
should do this course.
This place has no
accommodation listings available
online. Once again travel is a big issue
for me.
Internships:
An internship is work (sometimes
without pay) for students looking to get into a field of work in particular.
I think I’d be good for this internship as I
have good
written
English, I find organising things interesting and I’m good at
managing others. I wouldn’t have a hard time finding
ways to get there as soon as I learn to
drive (the drive would be fifty-two
minutes).
I think I’d be good for this internship as
I can edit, I have English skills and I
have a ‘creative eye’ and always
pay attention to details. However I
would still need communication skills,
prioritization skills, an ability to work in
teams and a university degree.
