Dear  Wickliffe  Residents,

The  story  of  the  Wickliffe  Schools  began  more  than  a  century  ago  and  has  been  one  of  the  pillars  of  the
community  ever  since.  As  the  community  looks  forward  to  the  future  of  our  schools,  we  also  must  address  the
facility  needs  of  the  district.

With  the  current  school  buildings  being  outdated  and  in  need  of  costly,  extensive  renovations,  the  Wickliffe  City
School  District  Board  of  Education  voted  to  place  a  bond  issue  on  the  November  2019  ballot  to  build  a  new  PK-‐12
campus.  If  the  issue  is  approved,  the  new  building  would  replace  our  existing  school  buildings  (two  of  which  are
the  oldest  operating  schools  in  the  county  at  nearly  100  years  old  and  another  that  is  62  years  old).  Passing  the
bond  issue  will  also  allow  us  to  maintain  the  new  building  for  years  to  come.  We  are  excited  for  this  opportunity
for  our  students  and  the  community.

We  hope  for  your  support  by  voting  FOR  the  bond  issue,  but  that  is  just  the  beginning.  There  are  many  important
ways  in  which  you  can  help  spread  the  word  about  the  need  for  a  new  school.  Those  include:
• Educating  yourself  on  the  issue  by  visiting  www.supportwickliffeschools.com
• Discussing  the  issue  with  family  and  friends  who  live  in  Wickliffe
• Hosting  a  coffee  klatch  in  your  neighborhood;  attended  by  administrators,  a  board  member  and  a
teacher  to  answer  questions  and  discuss  school  funding  with  your  neighbors
• Volunteering  to  distribute  literature
• Join  the  Citizens  for  Wickliffe  Schools  committee
• Placing  a  sign  in  your  yard
• Take  part  in  our  fundraisers
• Donate  to  the  Citizens  for  Wickliffe  Schools  (We  are  a  volunteer  committee.  No  school  funds  are
allowed  to  be  used  for  the  campaign).  The  donation  can  be  mailed  to  the  Board  of  Education
Office  payable  to  Citizens  for  Wickliffe  Schools.

Schools,  the  students,  staff,  and  community,  thank  you  for  your  consideration.

We  appreciate  your  support,  and  look  forward  to  continuing  to  build  our  partnership.

Sincerely,

Steve  Bittence                                                                                               Heather  Miller
