Melting Pot Essay

Yesterday brothers, and today two countries totally different. The Republic of Moldova is a
small country, a country with a rather large development potential, the country that has
undergone radical changes in its history because of the Russian empire that abducted it from its
mother country - Romania.

In the past the Republic of Moldova and Romania were the same land and the Romanian soul
was present regardless of the region, today, instead, in our century, the Republic of Moldova is a
country independent of Romania, hoping for a European future, but most Moldovans do not
agree with the union to the mother country - Romania affirming that during the war the
Romanians were tough and ruthless with us while the Russians protected us. Totally wrong in
my opinion, and this fact is being demonstrated today. The Romanians, our brethren across the
Prut help us to consolidate the economy by giving us funds, are very involved in the education of
the Republic of Moldova, so thousands of students are students in Romania receiving
scholarships and places of living. Romania is today the first trading partner of the Republic of
Moldova and a significant presence in key sectors of the economy of the neighboring state.A fact
for which Romania considers us brothers and wants the unification of all Romanians is the
removal of the visa regime at the crossing of the border, now Moldovans are moving without
problems beyond the Prut. The mother country has made efforts to regain our country, but
unfortunately the Republic of Moldova and the Moldovan mentality are still in the hands of
Russia, denying that we are Romanians and belong to the Romanian Country.

The Romanian Parliament has adopted a statement by which "believes that the citizens of the
Republic of Moldova who support the unification of the two states are fully legitimate" and that
"Romania and its citizens are and will always be prepared to meet any organic reunification from
the citizens of the Republic of Moldova as an expression of their sovereign will. "President
Iohannis - after in 2016 he considered that the union with the Republic Moldova" is possible but
not in the near future ", in March 2018 he spoke of " the support Romania granting the European
path of the Republic of Moldova ", stating that" if this will mean integration into the EU or
something else depends on Moldovan citizens ".

But I believe that Moldova will never be part of the Romanian soil because the mentality of
people is outdated with strong fingerprints left by the communist regime.It does not condemn my
country because it helped me to reach where I am now and for this I want to get involved in what
looking at her way to a European future. Since i got in America I have learned that democracy
and freedom of expression, expressing ourselves are the key to success, why? Because only like
this the country becomes a strong one in which every citizen is sure of his rights and obligations
where there is no description. On my return to the Republic of Moldova I will try to teach the

citizens to express themselves and to realize that our road is with our mother country and not by
the communist regime.

Awakening Moldova, we need a better and prosperous future, we need our mother country –
Romania!
