1. In teams of three, imagine you are the HR department within a large Australian
organisation. Your sales have been falling for the past two years. Staff have been laid off
due to poor performance. Your job is to identify methods to encourage ideas from existing
staff on how they can improve sales and employee motivation.

2. Write down in bullet point form at least four (4) ideas on how you can encourage fresh
ideas to improve sales performance in the space provided below.

Ideas to improve sales performance

Make working environment more healthy and cheerful with extra activities like,
1. encouraging friendly competition, celebrating birthdays or anniversaries, etc.

People tend to be more productive if they get awarded for certain tasks. They
2. will stay motivated to work if they get any small or big rewards for completing
their duties.
Encourage employees who come with new ideas and support them in it. This
3. will motivate them and ultimately increased their performances.

Team work is important in workplace. So promoting unity will help to achieve


4. an individual and team goals and increased overall performance.

Give employee a freedom to work. Tell them goal but do not decide its path to
5. get it, leave it on them. This will encourage them to work more effectively.

Building trust between boss and workers is important to get improved results.
