1. (a) List the advantages of DBMS over File processing system. 2

(b) Explain the three tier architecture of DBMS. 3

(c) Explain E-R diagram and Develop E-R diagram for a Railway reservation 5
system that reduce into table.

2. (a) Explain Generalization and Specialization of a Student with suitable 3


diagram.

(b) Explain the constraints of Generalization and Specialization with suitable 3


diagrams.

(c) Define the following terms: (i) super key, (ii) candidate key, (iii) foreign 4
key, (iv) primary key with suitable examples.

3. (a) Classify types of SQL commands with proper syntaxes. 4

(b) Explain different Database Models. List all the operators of Relational 6
model with suitable examples.

NB:
1) Number of questions /no. of parts of a question may be decided by the concerned paper
Setter (which may be less or more than as given in the table) considering the time constraint
keeping all questions compulsory.
2) The question paper should be printed on white paper supplied by the Purchase Section
Preferably printing the question paper on half of A4 size paper utilising both sides with
font size 11 point Times New Roman.
3) The format of Header should be as prescribed only.
