MANAGEMENT AND SM
IMMERSION

FEB 2018
Today I see myself as a high school student who
respects everyone, and is determined to make a
difference in this world. Not only that, but I see
myself as a good person who will aid others and
look for the best option for everyone. There are
other people who are suffering in this world and
who are struggling in surviving everyday in their
lives. There is no reason for us to ignore them
and to see them as a pest. We must find a
solution not as people who aims for the selfish
needs, but as people who strives for the
betterment of our countrymen. I am given gifts
by God so that I may live my life to the fullest,
however it is possible for me to share my gifts to
the poor and in need. God is very generous to
everyone; He is a person who we should look up
to for all the good things he has created. He is
our inspiration and our guide, since he gave us
gifts for us to share to others and that we may
to be an instrument of God to reach the poor
and in need. This was taught to me by the
curriculum Christian Life Education in senior high
school.  Learning how to be able to choose the
wisest decision and learning how to question
everything in the context of God. With God as my
role model, I am able to see the best solution for
every situation. My spirituality is in line with the
Christian faith, since I tend to aim for the best of
everyone and for equality in right for everyone. I
make choices that can make a difference for
good and that it can benefit everyone. However,
there are things that I want to learn more about
in CLE. For example, I want to learn how to find
the best solution for the problem. As a person
who is straightforward in terms of looking for
solutions, I want to know if the possible solutions
I make are in the standards to be called an
authentic development. Well personally I would
say that I have learned what I wanted to learn in
CLE class. I realized how to create the best type
of solution and how it makes the problem be
solved with the 3 factors for authentic
development.  I am very aware of how
development should be made and how it should
be inclusive, sustainable and integral. Able to
know these standards in creating a good solution
is very important in answering the driving
question of the curriculum. Being able to know
how the create the best way to address the
problem of poverty using the 3 factors of an
authentic development. With these in mind it will
be very important to see the possible solution, if
it will be beneficial to everyone and will it really
be a good solution. I learned this through the
lesson in class and whenever I try to make
decisions in my projects in school. I see the
importance of this lesson in making projects,
especially when our country needs to get all the
help they we need. As students we are to make
projects that help and aid the things and people
around us. I have made several projects that help
our country and our world a better place. I took
into consideration the 3 authentic development
factors. I made sure that my proposals are
following and coinciding with the authentic
development.

PROJECT
As a group of students we were asked to prepare an event in Payatas that will give the people a helping hand to move out of poverty.
At first we thought of having a tie up with the existing feeding program in Payatas and help them improve their inventory and supplies
to fulfill their goal. However, we were limited as students to actually sustain the feeding program for Payatas. So we chose to tie up
with another group instead. The group we tied up is a nutritional lecture where they will teach people how to have the right amount of
nutrition. So we were asked to give the guests nutritional food, meals that are healthy for the body and was coincides with the
nutritional talk. During the moment we executed the program, this is the moment I realize that I am realizing the hardships of what
the people in Payatas are undergoing. It helped my group and I think of a plan on what is a possible solution to their current state. We
all realized that in order to help the people in Payatas, we have to make a solution that can be sustainable and inclusive as well as
integral. Using these 3 factors we were able to come up with the feeding program. I believe that this feeding program helped the
people have a proper understanding of the situation of the poor, and that is that they don’t really know what to do in the future and
how they can escape the trap of poverty.  So we guided them just in case in the future the food that they eat is nutritious and
affordable. When we were closing the program, people who attended left the building with a smile and knowledge to sustain them until
the end.

In our Business Management class we were asked to support an advocacy within a list, and as the advocacy manager I chose the
prisoners as my advocacy. Normally the prisoners are threatening to the eyes and whenever people see one they will often be afraid
and run away. So our group created an apparel company who are trying to remove the fear and stereotypes about prisoners out of
people’s minds. Our products are trying to say that whenever there is an ex-convict, people should not be afraid of them and give them
another chance and erase the fact that he was dangerous. We are trying to raise awareness of the ex-convicts to be seen as friendly
and normal. Our company is promoting human dignity through our shirts. We are trying to say that the ex-convicts should deserve a
second chance, because they deserve a second chance and that everyone still has the same amount of rights. We are trying to imply
that the 4 CST Principles are important in our society today, because we are not united since there is still a barrier between the rich
and the poor. Everyone has the same amount of human rights and it is our job to keep it that way as one country.

IMMERSION
As a requirement in our school we are tasked to work similar to the employees of SM Cubao and
we are there to interact with them. We were able to have a first hand experience of the
hardships of the workers. Able to sympathize with them helped me realize that there are people
who are working so hard to live their life, but they are being held back since they have a hard
time earning with how low the salary is. After this immersion I was able to notice the hardships
of that people are experiencing right now, and that there are people who can make it way easier
however we do not really give it our best to help them. Communicating with the SM workers
helped me communicate with the poor and the people in need. Through this I was able to get
information about them and thought of ideas on how to help them. I befriended several workers
and got to know them more and I felt bad for them, because some of them are having a hard
time with their schedule and they are mostly having a hard time earning money. Due to the
events I felt that I was able to make more POFTP decisions. Whenever I make decisions I would
always think of the poor and how they will be affected by my decisions.
The End
As a Xavierian we are told to be men for
others and to let our light shine. In CLE class
we are taught how we should do these
things. We learned how to respect others and
their current state in financial problems. We
learned not only to respect them, but also to
also find solutions to their problems and help
them improve. Learning how to give faith to
the poor and give them light to their future is
our job as Xavierians. Throughout these
activities, I was able to interact with the poor
and help them in every way possible. Through
these activities, I was able to truly act like a
Xavierian. Giving the poor light to their paths
and giving them a hand in their hardships.
The past few activities have not only helped
the poor in their life, but it also helped me
grow and improve to be a better person to
no only some but to all. Having the
opportunity to do these things is a blessing
that I will not take for granted, and
something that I will forever remember.
Living a life of serving others is what we are
called to do as Xavierians and I would live
that life of service until the end.
