SESSION GUIDE

Session 10: PREPARATION OF CONTEXTUALIZED INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS


Duration
of Session 4 hours

Key
Understandings  Contextualized IMs are instructional materials that help the students
to be relate the lessons to real-life situation/s to make it relevant, meaningful
developed and useful.
 Contextualized IMs can be in the form of printed material, manipulative
materials, audio-visual materials and other local materials.
 Different types of contextualized instructional materials should be
authentic materials that students encounter in their daily lives.

Learning At the end of the session, participants are expected to:


Objectives
1. discuss the importance and the different types of contextualized
instructional materials;
2. develop contextualized IMs; and
3. manifest enthusiasm in designing IMs.

 Think of your own experiences in preparing instructional materials.
(3 minutes)
 Share with a partner your experiences.(5 minutes)
NOTE:
 Call at least 3 volunteers to share their insights in plenary.
 Synthesize the responses of the sharers before giving the activity.
Activity Provide each group with sample instructional material.
(40 minutes) Let them evaluate the IMs based on the assessment tool given.

2. Display your designed IMs in the designated booths.
3. Choose a “taong-bahay” to present your exhibit.
