ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of 60 minutes period, 90% of the learners will be able to:
a. Discuss the meaning and functions of Management
b. Appreciate the importance of management in the success of the organization.
c. Create a “News Reporting” using the basic concepts of management.

b.1.1. “Survey Test”
Give learners an initial test to find out their rate of potential of
becoming a manager. Let the learners sum up their scores to their
initial test of becoming a potential manager and its corresponding
interpretation.

b.1.2. Brainstorming
The teacher will group the learners into 5 groups then assign
a group leader and secretary afterwards. The learners shall be
instructed to brainstorm on their ideas about the meaning of the
term “management” and its basic functions. The secretary will write
down the consolidated responses while the leader shall present the
output to the class. The teacher must ensure maximum class
participation and facilitated learning.
b.2. ANALYSIS: Guide questions from the activity 1 and 2, respectively.
b.2.1. For Survey Test
 From the survey questionnaire you’ve accomplished and
knew the interpretation, do you believe on the results of the
test?
 How will you groom yourself to become a successful
manager or entrepreneur in the future as relate to the low
results you’ve got?

b.2.2. For Brainstorming


 What idea or concepts that best describe your group effort?
 How important is group participation in the success of your
given tasks?
 What are the tasks or functions you perform earlier which will
help the group work successful?

b.3. ABSTRACTION: Process Questions.


The learners will be asked about:
1. What can you say about the word Management?
2. What are the features emerge in each of the definition of
management?
3. Define the functions of Management – Planning, Organizing,
Staffing, Leading and Controlling?
4. What is the importance of management in the success of
business organization?

b.4. APPLICATION: Activity 3. “News Reporting”


The teacher will divide the class into 4 groups and ensure
that all members of the group will have its designated tasks. Each
group will have its different styles of news reporting done by 24
Oras, TV Patrol World, CNN and T3.

V. ASSIGNMENT

Direction: Form group of five members each. Visit a café around


Balingasag (HSG Café, Marco Resto Café, I Love Balingasag) and
observe how the manager attends to customers and employees.
Record your observations and present them in a report to the class.
