NeoSight™ is an automated standalone integrity management system, which enables data to be gathered from existing instrumentation
to create digital models that provide a holistic representation of asset response, including fatigue. NeoSight's integrated models create
'virtual sensors' to let you see the performance of critical components regardless of sensor coverage or availability, giving you a more
comprehensive picture of your deepwater operations and alerting you to potential problems before they arise.

NeoSight fills a gap in integrity management programs by automating the link between data
and models and allowing for a continuous evaluation of the system of interest.

Developed from over 20 years of proven operations knowledge, this physics-based system is designed to be robust, versatile and deliver
real-time monitoring. In addition, our advanced proprietary algorithms allow for quick processing of data that ensure analyses are
updated in minutes rather than days.

Integrate seismic workflow and decision-making

for optimal production

Emerson Automation Solutions launched the latest version of its reservoir characterization
and modeling software, Roxar RMS 10.1. Through advances to the seismic-to-flow simulation
workflow and versatile decision-support tools, Roxar RMS 10.1 supports optimal decision-
making and greater ease of use and performance for improved productivity.
“RMS 10.1 delivers significant improvements across the geophysics, geology, and reservoir
engineering domains; provides highly accurate models and reliable simulations; and ensures
that operators make the right field planning and reservoir management decisions for optimal
production,” said Kjetil Fagervik, vice president of Roxar Software product development and
marketing, Emerson Automation Solutions.
RMS 10.1 introduces extended functionalities within the seismic domain, bridging the gaps
between seismic interpretation and geological modeling. Displays allow users to co-visualize,
compile, and analyze data from multiple sources. Users experience increased performance
through more responsive and faster views, and greater interoperability through the Roxar appli-
cation programming interface. RMS 10.1 now transfers data from the Petrel software platform
to RMS in a one-step
procedure.

7 Tips for Designing the

Right Hydraulic Power Unit

A power unit, or power pack, is the heart of a hydraulic or electro-hydraulic system.

Unlike the selection of an individual component, the power unit or power pack is a
functionally organized assembly of specific components, sub-assemblies and
accessory items designed to accomplish a critical task – namely, to supply hydraulic
power to an application. Power units vary in size from a few liters to sizes with drives
boasting hundreds of horsepower. They may be built to perform a singular task or
designed to address unique, non-sequential operations. Power units may also offer
unique solutions as serial units, be pre-configured or configurable. Given the broad
range of potential use cases for a power unit, it’s important
for the designer to choose the best approach, and ulti-
mately, the right power unit for the needs of the application.
Bosch Rexroth offers seven fundamental considerations for
determining the needs of a power unit.

Power and Overall Force Consider the overall power

and force requirements before selecting a power unit. To
efficiently choose a unit, an HPU designer must know what
will be driven by the unit.
Operating Environment and Location The physical location provides a surprising number of additional parameters
to consider. Don’t overlook operating environment and location.

Serviceability/Service Life Even the most robust power unit will require service. Understand the specific maintenance
requirements before choosing a power unit.

Noise Always consider the circumstances surrounding the installation. A poorly-installed unit may result in
excessive noise.

Energy Efficiency While inexpensive components may seem attractive, wasted energy can quickly eat up any cost
savings. Variable speed pumps and other energy-saving components can offer real savings over time.

Cost Balancing Cost and strength can be a challenge. Before purchasing a power unit, anticipate additional costs
relating to operating environment, safety requirements and more.

Industry 4.0 Yes, connected hydraulics and I4.0 are real, and they can radically increase
efficiency and production moving into the future.
