United States government system is depending of constitutions (UUD) 1787.

However, it has
been amended several times. The United States has a strong democratic tradition and rooted in
the life of the community so it is considered a bastion of democracy and freedom. The United
States government system that has been running up to now has been endeavored to remain a
democratic government system. The government system adopted is a democratic system with a
presidential system. The long journey of the USA was marked by 27 times amendments to the
Constitution (UUD) and also so many changes in the government system. Then, how the USA
government system now works? USA, which means the United States of America is a collection
of countries in the United States who then unite themselves in a federation. Currently, there are
50 countries that are united in the USA and the last is Hawaii. Initially, USA consisted of only 13
countries which were the earliest colonies of Europe. Until now the number has reached 50
countries symbolized by the number of white stars on the USA flag. Therefore, USA has chosen
the form of government "Federal constitutional republic". The USA government adopts a power
distribution system in 3 branches or trias politica.

These three branches:

1. Legislative, in the form of a congress.

2. Executive, president.

3. Judiciary, Supreme Court.

Each has a complementary power.

The President

The President of the united states is elected every four years to a four-year term of office,
with no more than two full terms allowed. As is true with Senators and Representatives doesn’t
choose the president this means that the presiden can be frm one party, and the majority of those
in the House of Representatives or Senate from another. This is not uncommon.

In domestic as well as in foreign policy, the President can seldom count upon the
automatc support of Congress, even when his own party has a majority in both the Senate and the
Housde. Therefore he must be able to convinence Sngressmen. The Representatives and
Senators, of his point of view. He must bargain and compromise. This is a ajor difference
between the American system and House in which the nations leader represents the majority
party or parties, that is, Parliamentary systems.

Political Parties

Political Parties are groups of people that are organized based on their political beliefs
and goals. In some cases, political parties are large powerful organizations that run much of the
government.

The Constitution says nothing about political parties, but over time the U.S. has in fact
developed a two party system. The two leading parties are the Democratss and the Republicans.
There are other parties besides these who, and foreign observers are often surprised to learn that
among these are also a Communist party and several socialist parties.

The Democratic Party was founded in 1828. It is generally associated with larger
government programs and higher taxes. Members of the democratic party are often referred to as
“liberals” or “progressives”. The symbol of the Democratic party is the donkey.

The Republicans party was founded in 1854 by anti-slavery activists. It is generally

associated with smaller government and lower taxes. Members of the Republican partu are often
referred to as “conservatives”. The symbol of the Republican party is the elephant.

Sometimes, the democrats are thought of as associated with labor, and the Republicans
with business and industry. Republicans also trend to oppose the greater involvement of federal
government in some areas of public life which they consider to be the responsibility of states and
communities. Democrats, on the other hand, tend to favor a more active role of the central
government in social matters.
