THERAPEUTIC;

PHARMACOLOGIC: celecoxib is a selective
Non-steroidal anti- inhibitor of COX-2. Both COX-
inflammatory drug 1 and COX-2 are involved in

to prostaglandin H2, a
DOSAGE: precursor for prostaglandin
200-400 mg 1 cap and thromboxane.
OD Celecoxib has a sulfonamide
side chain that binds to a
ROUTE: hydrophilic region near to
ORAL the active binding site of
COX-2. The accumulation of
prostaglandins, particularly
prostaglandin E2, causes
inflammation, pain and
swelling as part of the
healing process. Inhibiting
the production of these
prostaglandins through COX-
2 inhibition therefore
alleviates this pain and
swelling.

CELEBREX is indicated AS FOLLOWS:
Osteoarthritis (OA)
For the management of the signs and

Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA)
For the management of the signs and
symptoms of JRA in patients 2 years
and older
Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS)
For the management of the signs and
symptoms of AS
Acute Pain
For the management of acute pain in
adults
Primary Dysmenorrhea
For the management of primary
dysmenorrhea
CONTRAINDICATION:
- Age under 18 years
- Pregnant and breastfeeding

- Allergy to NSAIDs
- Unstable ischemic heart disease
- Peripheral arterial disease
- Heart failure
