The effects of emerging of liberalizing
rice imports in the country’s largest
agricultural industry and the
suffering of farmers because of the
Rice Tarrification Law.
The Review of Rice Tarrification Law and
it has been a year since it was
implemented. Farmers have yet to
receive assistance which the Rice
Competitiveness Enhancement Fund
(RCEF).
Farmers will suffer from Financial
problem and local rice price keeps
going down and discouraging our
Farmers to plant rice because of the
policy that was implemented which
is the Rice Tarrafiction Law.

Farmers lose money because of Rice
Tarrafication Law and make our local
rice prices low and farmers are being
discouraged from planting rice because
of the implemented policy.
That the rice consumers are better off
than the local rice consumers. Prices of
rice has swiftly gone down and the tariff
revenues will go to RCEF and had
accumulated to P6 Billion, Based on the
reports coming from the Department of
Finance (DOF)
Retailers buy the rice that was
imported here in the Philippines
because of the cheaper price than
the local rice that the Farmers
plant.
Rather than buying the local rice
that our farmers plant to feed us
rice which is unfair to farmers.
