PLEASE READ THE IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS ON NEXT PAGE CAREFULLY & RETAIN THIS CALL LETTER FOR FURTHER SELECTION
PROCESS.
A. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS :
1. You should ensure that you fulfil all the eligibility requirements viz. age, qualification, caste, disability etc, as advertised before appearing for the Online test. Your
candidature for this Online test is "PURELY PROVISIONAL" pending detailed scrutiny of your fulfilling the eligibility conditions as mentioned in the vacancy notification
dated 03 Aug 2019. In case, if at any stage, it is found that any information furnished by you is false / incorrect or you do not satisfy the eligibility requirements, your
candidature is liable to be cancelled/ rejected, without notice.
2. With reference to clause D (i) of the vacancy notification referred to above, the pattern of the question paper, number of questions and allotment of marks for the
Objective type Online test is detailed under:

*Each question carries one mark. There shall be no negative marks.
3. The Objective type Online Test shall be of 60 minutes duration, carrying total of 60 marks.
4. The candidates belonging to Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category may please ensure that they are eligible to use a scribe as per the Government of
India rules governing the recruitment of Persons with Benchmark Disability. Such candidates availing the services of scribe for the test, are required to submit a valid
Certificate of Benchmark Disability along with declaration published on CSL website, filled in with requisite details to the invigilator for attending the test. Such
candidates who wish to avail the services of scribe shall not be permitted to use the services of scribe without submitting the declaration to the invigilator.
5. Grace time for completion of the test for PwBD candidates is upto 20 minutes. This includes candidates with disability who have physical limitation to write including
that of speed whether availing the facility of a scribe or not.
6. Candidates should bring two (2) copies of this Call letter, signed and with latest passport size photographs (pasted at given space) to enter the Exam Centre.
The candidate is also required to bring a valid photo identity card (in original). ONLY Passport/ Election ID Card/ Aadhar/ Driving license issued by the
Government along with 2 copies of the call letter to secure entry to the test centre. Those who do not produce the call letter and valid photo identity card (in
original) will not be allowed to appear for online test.
7. One copy of the call letter is to be submitted to the invigilator at the time of online test. The candidates should retain the other copy of the call letter till the
completion of selection process.
8. Biometric capture and frisking of candidates will be done prior to their entering the exam hall. Since the frisking is done using metal detectors, the candidates
appearing for the Online test may make sure that they DO NOT CARRY wrist watch / any metallic/ electronic devices/ copper/ aluminium/ silver/ any jewellery /
accessories / wire/ cell battery/ watch battery/ miniature electronic gadget/ photovoltaic equipment or similar material INSIDE THE EXAM HALL. Pens /
Pencils will be supplied inside the exam hall. Pens carried by candidates will not be permitted inside the exam hall.
9. Possession and use of electronic devices such as Camera, Mobile Phone, Micro Phone or any other Associated Accessories, Calculator, Log Tables, Pager,
Digital Diary Books, Other electronic gadgets etc are strictly prohibited in the exam hall. If any candidate is found in possession of any these devices/ documents
his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled.
10. Paper will be provided for Rough work, which should be returned back to the invigilator before leaving the exam hall.
11. Please note that request for changing the date, time and test centre of Online test will not be entertained.
12. Candidates who are found engaged in malpractices or violating the instructions issued by the Invigilator in the exam hall will be disqualified.
13. This call letter is provisional and does not constitute an offer of appointment and mere attending the online test will not entitle you to any claim for employment in Cochin
Shipyard Ltd.
14. No travelling allowance will be paid to any candidates for appearing for the online test.
15. All updates regarding selection process shall be published on CSL website (Careers page) and candidates are advised to frequently visit CSL website.
16. Any changes in the above schedule shall be notified on CSL website only.
17. Other terms and conditions of the advertisement notification NoP&A/18 (194)/2016- Vo II dated 03Aug 2019 shall apply.

B. ONLINE TEST INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Your Login ID is your Roll Number, the password provided to you at the time of registration as is also available on the call letter.
2. The duration of the Online test is 60 Minutes. The timer is available on the TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER of the screen; you are requested to keep a tab on it to
ensure that you plan your exam within the allocated time.
3. There shall be 60 multiple choice objective questions. For each question, four alternative answers have been provided out of which only one answer is
correct. The candidate should click on the correct choice, from the 4 options given. In case, the candidate does not wish to attempt the question, it can be left
blank.
4. Only one question will be displayed on the computer screen at a time. The candidate should click on to go to the next question or on

button provided at the bottom of the screen to go to the previous question.

5. Candidates should use the OR button or click on the question number displayed at the right side of the screen to
move back and forth between questions.
6. The answers will be saved whenever the candidate goes to the next question, by clicking on OR button. However,
the last question will be saved automatically after answering.
7. The questions can be answered in any order within the given time frame.
8. The candidate can choose to unmark his/her answer by clicking the button provided at the bottom of the screen.
9. The list of attempted and un-attempted questions is shown in the right side of the screen. You can click on any of the attempted ones to revise the answers in case you
wish so.
10. Candidate has the option to bookmark a question in case he/she wishes to review it at a later stage by clicking on the button available at the bottom of the

screen. The Bookmark on a particular question can be removed by clicking on

11. The question palette at the right of the screen shows the following status of each of the questions numbered as:

You have answered the question/

for review/

PS: Questions which are attempted and marked for review would be treated as attempted questions only as long as the candidate does not the
option selected.
12. If a candidate finishes the paper within the stipulated time, he/she can end the test by clicking the button. However, candidates will not be
allowed to leave the exam hall till the end of the stipulated time.
13. On the completion of the test duration, even if the candidate does not click on the button, his/her test will be automatically
submitted by the computer.
14. In the event of the test being disrupted, the candidate should immediately inform the invigilator. The invigilator will help the candidate to re-login to the Examination.
This will start the Examination from where it had discontinued/stopped.
15. Any candidate found in possession of any unauthorized material or indulging in copying or impersonation or adopting unfair means shall entail disciplinary action
including cancellation of candidature.
