Grade 8 – Narra/Yakal

I – OBJECTIVES
At the end of this lesson, the students should be able to:
Identify the characteristics of arts found in Japan;
Reflect on and derive the mood, idea, or message emanating from the face painting of
Japan by comparing their similarities and differences to the face painting of China; and
Create an artwork (Kabuki Make Up) by painting it on the illustration board.

Paint Colors/Acrylic Paint

III – PROCEDURE
A. ACTIVITY
i.) Daily Routine
Prayer
Greetings
Arranging of chairs
ii.) Review
- Call a volunteer to recap the previous lesson.
iii.) Motivation
- There are (6) students asked to post the pictures on the board.
- Let them identify each picture on the left side (Kabuki Makeup of Japan) and on the
right side (Jingju Liapu).
- They will be given 3 minutes to observe the pictures and later on they will be asked by
the teacher randomly.

D. APPLICATION
- The students were asked to bring the materials (paint brush, paint color/acrylic paint and
¼ size of illustration board.
- Each student will paint Kabuki makeup to the illustration board.
- They will be given 20 minutes to do the activity.
- Their output will be assessed using the following criteria:
Visual Impact/Creativity - 10
Neatness -5
Quality of Craftsmanship - 10

IV – AGREEMENT
