Department: Engineering
Job Summary:
Under minimal supervision, plan, direct, and coordinate the development and construction of
company specified products. Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent
evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standards, techniques,
procedures, and criteria. Act as a liaison between customers and other internal departments
to assist in defining electrical requirements, budget and scope, technical coordination,
analysis and evaluation. Assist in developing projects and monitor project organization,
scheduling and implementation. Assist in business development strategies to enable product
line growth. Using support staff develops electrical and mechanical manufacturing designs.
Train, direct, and monitor other employee’s projects. Work closely with subordinates to
resolve customer issues and concerns in regards to product capabilities and design.
Essential Functions:
Ability to use AutoCAD Electric and Company standards to draft project drawings.
Prepare manufacturing documentation packages, both hands-on and using support
staff.
Perform a variety of tasks and manage multiple projects with assistance from support
technicians.
Provide technical input for initial project plans and proposals.
Provide technical assistance in developing bid package specifications and evaluation
of contractor proposals.
Establish and maintain project schedules to accurately estimate labor utilization and
project timing.
Perform engineering design reviews of control documents prepared by contractors.
Follow up with customers to obtain feedback; correct problems, address customer
issues, and fix potential problems.
Assist in the specification, evaluation, purchasing and inspection of major electrical
equipment and control systems.
Monitor and control quality of projects to ensure that TESCO standards are being met.

Provide consulting on technical matters relating to new/ pre-established construction
projects.
Prepare, oversee and maintain engineering design specifications to ensure that
acceptable Company quality levels are defined.
Provide mentoring and aid in the career development of the Engineering staff.
Coordinate and attend meetings with internal departments, subcontractors, design
engineers, and customers.
Research and select electrical components and assemblies.
Prepare and evaluate system specifications and/or sub-specification.
Act as a liaison with other departments, divisions and organizations.
Notify Engineering Manager of budget and scheduling problems.
Investigate problems, develop solutions, and initiate Engineering Change Orders.
Prepare written documentation, reports, memoranda, or other data relative to
assignments.
Participate in the annual reviews of Engineers, Drafters and Support staff.
Perform all other duties assigned.
Demonstrated Skills:
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
Ability to read and understand schematics
Ability to design and test all aspects of electrical components, equipment, and
machinery
Understanding of manufacturing workflow, including planning activities

Experience:
10+ years’ experience in engineering design
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
2+ years in a supervisorial position in an Engineering work environment
Training Requirements:
Tesco Controls, Inc. general safety requirement training
