Learning tourism and hospitality is different than learning conventional

subjects like maths, physics or chemistry. It requires lot of passion and interest
for any student to truly understand them. I believe I have great passion for
tourism and hospitality. From young age I have been browsing internet through
various websites of tourism across the world. It was exciting to see the world
as a tourist. Each place has so much of history, geography, cultural heritage
and beauty attached to it. Many times it has an mesmerizing effect to see old
heritage sites like Pyramids, Mummies, Stone henge etc…

Over a centuries these places have seen several changes, in its surrounding
but these monuments are standing still and facing the changes for years.
There is element of science, art and creativity combine in these type of tourist
places. I have visited many tourist location in India. I would still like to continue
doing that, my direction in educational pursuits changed recently. I ponder over
the prospects of tourism in India and the immense opportunities it offers, so
rather than continuing a conventional degree program or conventional subject
of study, I decided to pursue tourism and hospitality as they are my passion.
Working on our hobbies and passions make the work more fun and interesting
instead of a burden.

I do not think that I am made for a job in computer application where you need
to sit at one place and keep on working through inputs and outputs. I would like
to pursue studies in field of my interest wherein later I can create a career in
field of my interest and passion. While doing so there were so many options, I
decided to go international this time, as now a days large number students
prefer studying abroad due to various reasons including quality of education
and after study benefits.

Europe has been center of attraction from last century, it has seen drastic
changes there is so much of history, culture and art that the place is ideal
destination for most of the people around the world. While doing research on
various countries within Europe, I came across Malta. Malta is a member of
European union and the commonwealth. It enjoys close ties with the
United-kingdom. The education system of Malta is similar to that of UK and
therefore its considered valid and equivalent across most of the countries.
Malta is member of the European Higher Education Area, the country has
good number of international students each year. Thus it is a cosmopolitan
place to be in. The weather of the country is inviting and pleasant through out
the year. University of Malta is one of the oldest Universities in the world, the
country has good reputation in the academic fields. The country is famous for
offering year around best tourist spots. There are huge number of international
tourist visiting Malta each year. This is due to the perfect combination of
beauty, rich history and culture with good facilities for tourist. It makes the
experience of tourist pleasant and remembering one.

I have completed 10th grade from Board of Intermediate and high school (UP)
in June 2018, after10th grade I joined Advance Diploma in Computer
Application from government registered Expert Computer Education in Surat,
this course was finished in June 2019. I did this course as many of my friends
had enrolled here. But with time I could see that I cannot make this subject as
my profession. So rather than following peers I decided to follow my own path.
I am enrolled in Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality at EEC ITIS Malta Tourism
and Languages Institute.

In my day to day life I see various types of opportunities for growth and
prosperity in Tourism field. It is more true in present time, when our country -
India is undergoing changes. The government of India has been showing keen
interest in developing tourism sector consistently. There are so many projects
and promotional schemes offered by the government of India to encourage
tourism sector.During April 2019, 2,01,137 tourist arrived on e-tourist visa as
compared to 1,57,094 during the month of April 2018, registering growth of
28.0%.

India is on verge of becoming seventh largest tourism economy in the world

with 14.62 mn jobs creation in last four years time period. By year 2028,
tourism and hospitality is forecasted to earn $ 50.9 bn as visitor exports
compared to $ 27.3 bn earned in 2017. By 2030 India is expected to be among
the top five business travel market.

Keeping in mind all these factors, I am happy with my decision to create my

own path in tourism & hospitality industry. There are so many job opportunity
at present and in future with growth in tourism sector the demand is going to
increase even further. I am bound to have a good employment prospects in
India. There are so many new schemes approved by government of India and
besides there is huge investment made in this sector. So in coming years
foreign tourists are going to increase in India. The country has all types of
landscapes and diversity. We have snowcapped mountains, costal areas, to
desert. There is rich cultural diversity available in India for tourists.

There many prestigious private travel tourism companies and government

organization. There are many top rated hotels having tourism manager as part
of their crew members to support guest stay with better services. With
knowledge of english and additionally an international exposure, I would like to
fulfil my dream of having career in this industry in India.

The payscale offered in top rated travel agencies is Rs.3,00,000 to

Rs.5,00,000 depending upon person’s capacity to recruit tourists and achieve
higher level of sales. This also depends upon referral and good feedback of
tourists. Therefore service and updated skills are major areas of development
to cater to high end customers with most trending experiences and with
something extra making their experience worth while.

In conclusion I would say that studying at Malta Diploma in Tourism and

Hospitality at EEC ITIS Malta Tourism and Languages Institute, I will be able to
gain all the best benefits trending in the industry and at the same time
experience the highest level of service offered in country like Malta to tourist. It
will be a practical learning experience for me.
