4D Pad after CDP/Time Intersect Macro*

4D Pad after CDP/Time intersect Macro* is optional.

However, Landmark suggests that you include it in your flow.
It ensures that each line of the intersected volumes have the
same number of CDPs (or traces).

Some 4D processes operate on ILINE_NO ensembles and

each line must be the same size. The following processes
require the ILINE_NO ensembles:
• Smooth 2D
• Smooth xy
• Global Shift
• Moving Window Match Filter
• Variable Gain

This macro contains the following processes:

Disk Data Input

Pad Traces

Trace Header Math

Disk Data Output

Input/Output

Prerequisites

Run 4D Poststack Geometry Macro, 4D Preprocessing

Macro, 4D CDP Intersection Macro, and 4D Time
Intersect Macro prior to running this macro.

Input

Separate data volumes are input for each vintage of data.

Although the input dataset order is irrelevant, Landmark
suggests that you first input the dataset that you expect to
change the most over the entire processing sequence. The
second input dataset is the control.

Input volumes are sorted by ILINE_NO and XLINE_NO.

Output

Separate data volumes are output for each vintage of data.

Macro Flow Description

The general flow of the macro is as follows:
• Read the first input dataset sorting to ILINE_NO:
XLINE_NO with sort string of *:*/
• Run Pad Traces over the range of crosslines input from
the menu.
• Add a Trace Display Label Identifier
• Output the first padded output dataset
• Repeat for the second input(inserted) dataset

Parameters

Volume(s) to process

Select the volumes to process from the following choices:

• Both Input volumes pads both input volumes
• First Input Only pads the first volume only
• Second Input Only pads the second volume only

Input Dataset Selection

Landmark suggests that you first input the dataset that you
expect to change the most over the entire processing
sequence.

Select the first input dataset

Select the first volume input file from the menu.

Select the second input (inserted) dataset

Select the second volume input file from the menu.

Presort in memory or on disk?

Select to presort input in memory or on disk, depending on

resource requirements:
• Memory presorts traces in memory (faster, but may
exhaust memory resources).
• Disk presorts traces on disk (slower, but capable of very
large sorts).

Pad

First crossline value

Enter a crossline value to start all traces in the ensemble

after padding.

Last crossline value

Enter a crossline value to end all traces in the ensemble after

padding.

Output Dataset Selection

Trace label for the first padded output dataset

Enter a label to display on screen with the first input trace

data. The default is 1 - padded.

Select the first padded output dataset

Select or add an output filename for the first dataset.

Trace label for the second padded output dataset

Enter a label to display on screen with the reference trace

data. The default is 2 - padded.

Select the second padded output dataset

Select or add an output filename for the second dataset.

Skip primary disk storage?

Select Yes to use secondary disk storage to store the data

rather than filling the primary storage area. The default is
No.
