I. OBJECTIVES
 Identify the 5 elements of the story in the Malaysian folktale “Outwitting a Crocodile”
correctly.
 Construct a story house together with the 5 elements of the story.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


Identifying the elements of the story.
Topic: “Outwitting the Crocodile”
Reference: Grade 8 Learning Package
Materials: powerpoint presentation, T.V. , tarpapel
Valuing: Be wise all the time

III. LEARNING PROCEDURE

B. Developmental Activities
1. Motivation
 The teacher post 3 pictures and 3 jumbled paragraphs of the story.
 The teacher will pass the ball to the students and play the music. Once the music stops, the
student who holds the ball should match the paragraph to the picture to show the proper
sequence of the story “Outwitting a Crocodile”
2. Pre –viewing
The teacher will post some questions before playing the video of the story “Outwitting a Crocodile”
The teacher will tell the students to consider the questions that will guide them to understand the
story.
1. What does the title tell us?
2. Who are the main characters of the story?
3. Where does the story happen?
4. What was Sang Kancil’s problem?
5. What was Sang Buaya thinking of?

3. Viewing
The teacher will play the video

4. Post – Viewing
The teacher will call some students to answer the questions posted before they watch the video.

IV. EVALUATION
The teacher will show a story house with 5 elements of the story.
The teacher will ask the students to draw a house exactly like what the teacher’s story house.
The teacher will show 5 paragraphs and ask the students to identify and copy it into their story house.
(copy the house)
(write the answer in the story house)
