INTRODUCTION
In building, there are two elements that involved which is softscape and hardscape. For
softscape, it is determined as anything that are live, growth such as trees, grass and so on. For
hardscape, it refers to a thing that solid, and usually man made such as concrete, lift, escalator and
many more. In this report, it will explain briefly on how softscape and hardscape effect the
industrial revolution 4.0 or IR 4.0.
In this report, Pasaraya Econsave has been chosen as example to do a comparison between
actual building towards to IR 4.0. Its is located at Bukit Gambir, muar. This building operates ad
department store that supply dry ingredient and wet ingredient to the locals. Since this building
quite big, and located in the middle of the city, it has a basement parking, some building
transportation to ease any disable visitor to their store and also ease any person that carry a ton of
load good to their cars.
This building is labeled as commercial building which may have a small amount of
softscape. This is because, they wanted to save more and create more hardscape that can bring them
money in the future. Actually, according to Uniform Building by Law, UBBL 1984 any building
construction must have 10% of green area based on their total area of construction. For example,
if a construction has 1000m2 of total area, 10% of it which 100m2 must be fill with softscape or
green item such as trees, grass, or anything natural.
IR 4.0 or Industry Revolution has a several elements in it. This will be explained later on
the next subtopic about what consists in IR 4.0 and what is the definition about all of the elements
itself and what they capable to provide for the building. In this report, the method that were used
to make this finding easier is by using 5W (who, what, when, where, why) 1H (how).
So, in this report, it will explain everything about what this building has and how t related
to IR 4.0. Maybe it doesn’t have so much feature that can be compare later, but at least it has
something to be shown and when anyone wanted to build something, they might need to consider
on about the Industry Revolution 4.0 elements.
1
DEFINITION OF THE SYSTEM
Industry Revolution 4.0
Based on figure 1, it can be seen clearly on what elements that exits in IR 4.0. Now days,
people tend to have an autonomous robot such shown in the figure. The easiest autonomous that
you can see is the cashier at the department store. Today, there are a lot of ways to pays your goods
by using pay wave, Qr code scan, e-wallet and many more. This system can help to do the
transaction become much more efficient and faster because, the cashier doesn’t need to prepare for
a money change and this will help to reduce the risk to getting money short on the transaction. In
other point of view, security level also has been rise up to another next level.
Cybersecurity, cloud computing, big data storage, all these elements are being used by most
people today. For econsave, all their days sale record is being update to the main server and the
people at the headquarters (HQ) can know on how what their store progress for todays and can
prepare to send new fresh supply before the store finished selling the things. So, its help a lot to
maintain the selling rate of the store. Below is the definition on all of the element above:
Autonomous Robots: An object/process which can gain information about it’s environment, adapt
and make decisions without the need for human intervention.
Simulation: Amalgamation of physical and virtual entities to model, design, simulate, monitor and
safeguard physical processes in a virtual environment.
Systems Integration: A more cohesive cross company collaboration, enabling horizontal and
vertical data integration networks providing truly automated value chains.
2
The Internet of Things: The networking and connectivity of smart devices to enable data collection
and exchange.
Cyber Security: Protection of computer systems from theft or damage to hardware, software or
information and from disruption of the services provided.
Cloud Computing: Remote server software and hardware services used to store, manage, process
and visualise data, rather than a local server.
Additive Manufacturing: Digital design data is used to create a three-dimensional object in which
layers of material are formed under computer control.
Augmented Reality: Superimposing computer-generated images combined with object recognition
to a user’s view of the real world, giving an interactive hybrid view.
Big data: Large data sets that may be analyzed computationally to reveal inconsistent process
performance or availability and visualize results.
Figure 2 show the revolution of industry from the first day it’s created until today’s
technology that human already archive. And, they still developing for goods. But, too much
technology can also cause people lost their job. This is because they were replaced by a robot that
hardly to make error than human beings. So, there is a good side and bad side about technology.

RELATION TO IR 4.0
From our view point done by site visit that has been done, there is suggestion for this mall
to achieve IR 4.0. They need to use cloud computing and the Internet of things. Cloud computing
is remote server software and hardware services used to store, manage, process and visualize data,
rather than a local server. The networking and connectivity of smart devices to enable data
collection and exchange. From our survey system computer was not connected to any internet or
any connection to cloud. We suggest that they should use cloud computing for easy to them in
managing the storage, managing technician on maintainers, managing the worker so that easy to
monitor all the services that are needed. In addition, they also need to install cyber security. It is to
protection of computer systems from theft or damage to hardware, software or information and
from disruption of the services provided. Besides that, autonomous system is one of the part in any
environment especially in term of security and safety. Autonomous system is an object/process
which can gain information about its environment, adapt and make decisions without the need for
human intervention. From our view, this system is important to user in the building. This system
will ensure to all the people in the build will stay safe if there is any unwanted incident such as
robbery, fire and others. This system will automatically alert the police and firefighter if there is an
event.

CONCLUSION
The Industrial Revolution prompted numerous new hypotheses, particularly in social,
financial, and logical regions. Huge numbers of these hypotheses had constructive outcomes,
however a significant number had negative impacts. The new logical speculations were for the
most part constructive in light of the fact that many brought about innovations that improved the
personal satisfaction for the vast majority. Social changes had both positive and negative effects.
Be that as it may, huge numbers of the negative effects, for example, poor working conditions and
youngster work were transformed through development of worker's guilds and section of tyke work
laws. Financial changes were likewise for the most part positive. Be that as it may, the imbalance
between countries started to develop, in the event that the nation was industrialized or not.
As conclusion, the building that we chose doesn’t meet the IR 4.0 requirement that much.
It only has several points that can be count by using finger. But they can always refine what is lack
on their buildings. To achieve a good IR 4.0 rating, they need to have all of the elements.
