Designing Teams and Team Identity
Designing Team and Team Identity are terms collectively define the goal of successful teams,
when we choose a team for accomplishing a project, we need to consider numerous things into
account in order to complete a project. Two main things that should considered for any project to
complete successfully are:
goals – achieving the targeted outcome at a specific time period with specific resource goal
Objectives – achieving the expected outcome which often gets at the end of project. In which the
objective is explicit and weighable and also considers time and budget constraints. Based on that
the next steps falls into place like resources, infrastructure etc.
Once the goals and objectives are defined then it should be determining the stories or tasks need
to be completed. Prior to determining, we should construct and manage a well-defined team. It is
important to teams work well because over few decades the workplace environment has turned
out to be substantially more group oriented (Scans, 1991), and understudies who take an interest
in group conditions are vastly improved arranged than those without joining background to
prevail at work.
Although for business there is a process oriented in designing teams like team members and
determine their roles in the project. Using specific roles to each team members helps
interdependent (Johnson, 1998) what's more, to be separately responsible for group achievement,
to build their learning abilities (Duncan-Hewitt, 1995), and to accelerate the four phases of group
improvement shaping, compromise, critical thinking, and tuning (Tuckman, 1965). Often there
should be changing the roles of the members in the team to see the better results sometimes and
should take the performance into consideration for team roles.
Our team is identified as “rewrite warriors”, which includes 18 members as a team. Considering
few roles in identifying each team member:
Project Manager - 4:
The person who facilitate all the team members with a process and controlling them what to do
and rewarding them based on the performance.
Scrum Master - 3:
The person who facilitate all the meetings that are needed to schedule upon the teams request and
coordinate with respective teams if we need support. He is the person who solely responsible in
doing these and following up with team members about their work like what you did yesterday?
What you are doing today? And if team members have any blockers and all.
Business Analyst - 3:
These are the people who are responsible for providing the requirements in order to accomplish
the project and they will design completely the time period of the project with the business
teams.
Technology Specialist - 2:
People who identifies and decides, what tools should be used in order to accomplish the project
are known for technology specialist or architects.
Technology Developers - 5:
Speaking about developers where get groomed the tasks from business analyst and will start
developing them with tools that are decided by specialist.
So, these is how each team individual identifies their roles that are designed and will effort that
strives to deliver the product to business identifies as a team.
