Title Cloning of a computer system with specification analysis

Article type Review Article

Abstract

Cloning of Computer System includes its equipment segments, establishment of its product

applications and testing of its ability and sturdiness by programming establishment which is vital

in an ICT working condition. This venture concentrates more on how PC framework could be

coupled, kept up successfully and proficiently with no shortcoming during amassing of the

framework and having a high programming presentation. Throughout this project I focus on each

and every component needed for assembling and also their functions. The main reasons why

people go for assembling of system instead of buying a new system is to allow them have good

and satisfactory quality of what they want (specification and durability). Buying a new computer

system might not solve the problem of some people but coupling it themselves ease their wounds

when it comes to satisfaction. The main importance of coupling a computer system is to have

access to all those components and to know how to couple and disassemble it when the system is

faulty.

1.0 INTRODUCTION

HP Computer, situated in Houston, Texas, is the world's biggest PC producer and the fourth

biggest data innovation (IT) organization. From 1992-1997, the organization's forceful high

volume PC system moved it to high development rates in incomes, while its initiative in PC

servers supported solid edges and drove benefit development. Beginning in 1995, previous CEO

Eckhard Pfieffer started to change HP from an unadulterated PC organization to a full-

administration IT organization, with the objective of turning into a $50 billion organization that

could rival any semblance of IBM and Hewlett-Packard. The key moves were the acquisitions of

Tandem Computer and Digital Equipment Corporation in 1997 and 1998, giving HP a various

line of advances and administration abilities.

Building and amassing a PC framework, gives most extreme fulfillment to the client and a

compensating knowledge. To Assembles Desktop PC (Personal Computer) the

clients/manufacturers of such frameworks are most likely mulling over building or collecting a

PC as opposed to acquiring one pre-fabricated or pre-gathered. This task is to illuminate us on

how PC designing understudies can fabricate a PC and distributed system with less pressure and

less measure of cash, and how the PC developed can meet with the handling prerequisite of the

school Laboratory. This undertaking has figured out how to buy the Sub-Assembly PC parts and

couple it to make a PC framework that could equal the presentation of the marked variant. This

predetermined PC will be tried with normal programming to check its ability, execution,

toughness and proficiency

1.1 BACKGROUND FOR THE PROJECT

Building the PC framework on this venture sets out on social event various parts/gadgets of PC

framework together in other to make a well-working PC framework accessible to the PC research

center (The Gateway (ICT) polytechnic saapade, Ogun State, Nigeria) and to empower

understudies to be increasingly natural to every segment of the PC framework. Subsequently,

this venture will cover all the way toward obtaining segments, coupling, and the way toward

introducing the OS (working framework) into the PC framework and furthermore testing its

strength with some designing programming identified with the division.

1.2 MOTIVATION

It has been noticed that the knowledge of hardware (coupling) and software (installation) have

reduced drastically in the life of the engineering society, so this persuaded us that the computer

built by manufacturers in the economic only fit in to general purpose computing which is quite

different from the most required and needed specification most time for example using the

computer as a server for database of students.

1.3 OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

The main objective is to build well-functioning computer that has the capacity to install and load

the Logism software and proteus8 perfectly amongst others with purpose of:

i. Ability to redo a PC as indicated by particular details.

ii. Installing 64bit based programming effortlessly for building plan.

iii. Identifying PC segments and how they fit and work together.
1.4 SCOPE OF THE STUDY

The scope of this research is to show how computer system could be purchased in parts,

assembled and installed with required specified engineering software to match a given

configuration of 64bit for the use in the engineering laboratory.

2.0 LITERATURE REVIEW

Cloning of computer system primarily specifics the ability of a computer science student to have

the technical know how about and how to choose between buying a whole or sub assembly

computer system. Cloning of a computer system regards as step by step procedure for

assembling computer components for the purpose of achieving a set of configuration required by

the users.

2.1 THE LAPTOP

ICTS worked with Faculties to decide the proper determinations for the PCs for the understudies

on Financial Aid, with the point of furnishing them with the most moderate model from the

national Student Technology Program (STP) go that would address their issues all through their

degrees.

For Architecture, this was resolved to be a significant level note pad which could process refined

illustrations (i7 processor, 8GB RAM, 1TB hard drive), while the others picked a passage level

note pad (i3processor, 4GB RAM, 500GB hard drive).

3.0. METHODOLOGY

The project aims at building an HP laptop pro-book computer which has a system rating of 64bit

Operating System, 4gigabites installed internal memory and Intel ® core i3 processor, this

phases discuss and enlighten the various parts/components and the require tools which will be

used to coupled it. This will be needed as a result of assembling the components to make it a

whole computer system.

3.1 TOOLS REQUIRED TO SETUP A WHOLE COMPUTER

i. Human effort and composure

ii. A small plastic bin(s) to put your screws and other small parts into. Needle nose pliers,

Screwdriver with a good collection of bits.

iii. A small flashlight. Used to check in to some internal component that is not seen clear.

3.2 FUNCTION OF THE COMPUTER SYSTEM

• Browsing the internet

To give essential usefulness to a client who simply needs web surfing, a little-word handling, and

the infrequent round of solitaire, it's significant not to go over the edge. Such a client has no

requirement for a best in class processor or 3D designs card. A humbly designed framework with

a sufficient web association will suit this client best and can be amassed efficiently.

• Gaming System

We’re not talking here about the occasional game of solitaire or a secret late night Zuma

obsession. We are talking about cutting edge 3D gaming first-person-shooters or real-time

strategy games with thousands of troops on the screen at the same time, specula reflections and a

lot of other confusing terminology that describes visual effects designed to make your system fall

down on its knees and cry like a little girl.

• Video editing

Big and fast hard drives are keys, 10000 RPM Raptors in Raid 0 as working space with multiple

750 GB drives or I terabyte drives for storage is a good target. SATA/300 is highly

recommended and SCSI subsystems should also be considered. A large amount of memory

(2GB, 3GB, even 4GB) would be beneficial.

• Music production

Plenty of disk space is important, but a music production (recording and mixing) workstation is

chiefly distinguished by specialized external components studio reference monitors instead of

speakers, mixing consoles, microphones, etc.

One piece of advice, if you have extra money, get better microphones, even if you have to trade

the Blues mobile.

3.3 SYSTEM DESIGN AND EVALUATION

This phase describes the process of how the components of the computer system are to be

assembled right from the major components/devices to the least. Thereafter the installation of the

operating system comes in to check and test for the required configuration of the system. It also

shows the functions, actions, simulations and results of different circuits on different software’.

3.4 FEATURES OF THE COMPUTER

PROCESSOR SPEED 1.7GHZ

RAM 4GB

HARD DISK DRIVE 465GB

MONITOR LCDSCREEN

KEYBOARD PS2

MOUSE INBUILT
3.5 PROCEDURAL FOR THE ASSEMBLAGE OF THE PC (PERSONAL

COMPUTER)

Availability of workshop or a big table which you will put everything accordingly must be

considered first. Then next step is to un-wrap all the new components/devices from their sachets

staring from the motherboard, processor, memory etc. make sure the manuals of all the

components are intact and you follow as stipulated in other not to damage some components.

The tool/kits needed for the completion of the processes should be made available. After this

must have been done then the procedure begins;

• Installing a Socket Processor and the Heat Sink on the Motherboard

Lift up the lever that is on the side of the socket. This unlocks the mechanism and gets it ready

for you to insert the processor. Carefully match up the pins on the bottom of the new processor

with the holes in the socket, and then VERY gently insert the processor into the socket.

• Installing Memory Modules

1. Find the memory module bank on your system board. They should look similar to what

you see below. There may only be two slots instead of four as you see.

2. Align the notches on the memory module with the notches on the memory module bank,

and then press the module firmly into the bank. The tabs on the sides of the module bank should

secure the memory module automatically. When the module is secure, you hear a click.

3. Repeat this procedure for any additional memory modules that need to be installed.

• Installation of Motherboard

After fixing all the necessary components/devices on the motherboard and making sure that they

all intact then installing of the motherboard to the system case follows, it should be noted that the
power pack comes with casing bough that’s why the step is sipped here. Slide the motherboard

gently towards the back of the Case. The system board standoffs side it the keyhole slots.

• Installing the CD Rom and Hard disk

Readily the space for the Hard disk and the CR-ROM drive in the computer case are easy to

know. The HARD DISK and the CD-ROM drive should be placed in to the casing in the form

that will allow cables to be connected.

Connect power cables to your physical hard and CD-ROM drives.

3.6 INSTALLING THE OPERATING SYSTEM

Now that everything is put together, we have passed all the difficult stages the rest is a cakewalk.

Here’s how to install your operating system and get everything up and running.

Installing Windows on a custom machine can take a few extra steps than installing it on a pre-

built machine. For this project we are going to use Windows 10, but we can of course install

Window XP, Linux, or even Mac OS X, if we are building a Hackintosh.

• Step One: SETTING THE BIOS

When we first start up our computer, it tells us to press a key to enter setup, because it is HP.

This takes us to the setup of your Basic Inputs/Outputs System, or BIOS, here; we can configure

some of the lowest-level aspects of your new machine. We may not actually need to edit any of

these settings, but it’s a good idea to go through, get acquainted with them, and make sure

everything’s in good order before moving on.

BIOS will be a little bit different on different brands of motherboard, so your screen may not

look exactly like the images here, but it should be close.

• Step Two: INSTALLING THE WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM

Next, we grab your Windows installation DVD (or flash drive, if that be the case) and pop it in.

and we Start up your computer which automatically boot into the Windows installer.

Once the installer loads, we hit the “Install Now” button, accept the terms of use, and choose

“Custom (advanced)” when asked what type of installation you want we Found our primary hard

drive (if you have more than one), and click on the “Unallocated Space” partition, and Hit Next.

Windows should start installing

• Step Three: ACTIVATING THE WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM

The last thing we did before we actually use your computer is to install our drivers. If the

Ethernet or Wi-Fi works out-of-the-box, Windows may find most or all of our drivers for us. If

not, we’ll need to pop in the CD that came with your motherboard to install the Ethernet or Wi-

Fi drivers we need to access the internet.

Once we have gotten the internet up and running, Windows install drivers for us. It might not

catch everything though, so we had to install some manually. The CDs that came with our

motherboard, video card, and other hardware are probably already out of date, so we don’t

recommend using these to install those drivers.

• Step Four: INSTALL WINDOWS UPDATES

This is the last thing we did is to make the Windows up to date. Chances are, we have already

gotten a notification from Windows Update at this point, so we, head into your Start Menu, to

Programs, and hit Windows Update. We Install all the updates it gives us, and reboot our

computer. Check for updates again and it’ll have a whole new slew of them. We had to do this

quite a few times, but eventually it stops serving you notifications and we were able to make all

up to date.
4.0 CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

4.1 CONCLUSION

The project is based on building CORE i3 Laptop computer which has gather stages on how each

components of the computer system can be fitted. This project has manage to identify each

components and devices components with their functions and specifications, and the required

tools were used; screwdriver, tester, multi-meter, nose-pliers and blower machine. The

components and their specifications are; 4GBRAM, 3, 0 Intel CORE i3 processor Laptop. This

certifies that the Computer and software can be efficiently used in the polytechnic laboratories’

for academic activities.

4.2 RECOMMENDATION

After confidently arriving at the pace of achieving the assembling of a computer and installing

two specific software that has the functionality required. Its durability which is well guarantee is
