Dairy farming is one of the most profitable business in India.it is also an important source of
additional source of income to small farmer. India is the largest country of milk producing company
in the world. The demand of milk & milk products increasing rapidly due to increasing purchase
demand in our country.

Government subsidy-

Nabard

25% of the outlay (33 .33 % for SC / ST farmers, ) as back ended capital subsidy subject to a ceiling of
Rs 1.25 lakh for a unit of 10 animals ( Rs 1.67 lakh for SC/ST farmers,). Maximum permissible capital
subsidy is Rs 25000 ( Rs 33,300 for SC/ST farmers )for a 2 animal unit. Subsidy shall be restricted on a
prorate basis depending on the unit size.

Training & Preparation:


Before starting my dairy farm, I am going to take training local dairy farm for the purpose. I already
visited local progressive dairy farmers in our locality to gather knowledge about dairy farming.an
arrangement with veterinary doctor made for regular health checkup and vaccination of our animals.
I have taken shade estimate from approved engineer. I have ensured the following points before
starting dairy farm…

1. We have availability good quality dairy breed cows in nearby market


2. I will market milk in our nearest milk collection center located at yenki.
3. I will produce fodder in our field and purchase concentrate from our milk collection center
located at yenki.
4. Veterinary medicine available in the nearest market and contacted a local veterinary doctor
for checkup and vaccination of our animals.

Land & Security:-


I am constructing a shed in our own land situated with our residence address

This Project Based On Following Assumptions:


1. Crossbred cows in cows’ 1st or 2nd lactation will be purchased in two batches of 5 animals
each at an interval of 5 to 6 months.
2. Availability of 2 acre of irrigated land is prerequisite for the project.
3. Cost of labour has not been taken into consideration since full time labour is not required for
the small unit. Family labour will be utilized for maintenance of the dairy farm.
4. Fodder cultivation considered in 2 acres land, wo crops considered per year.
5. Cow dung produced will be utilized as manure for fodder cultivation.
6. Calf of cows is not considered as it will nullified by their sale value.
7. In case of death cow, new cow will be purchased from insurance claim money.
