其實在聊天或是寫作時非常重視用字的精確，

如果只使用「eat」及「drink」兩個字很難囊括各種不同程度的吃、喝，

像是若想表達「大口地吃」或是「豪飲」，這兩個字就不夠用啦！

因此呢今天 VT 整理了許多不同的「吃、喝」，

讓你以後不再只會說 “I eat a lot” 或是 “I drink very fast”！

Drink

Sip 啜飲、小口小口喝

She took a sip of her tea.

她喝了一小口茶。

Nurse 慢慢地喝 (通常指酒精飲料)

I slowly nursed a glass of wine to make it last longer.

為了喝久一點，我故意慢慢地喝這杯酒。

Slurp 發出聲音地吃、喝

In Japan, slurping soup is a sign of approval and appreciation of the cooking.

在日本，吃東西發出聲音是一種認同或是讚美廚藝的行為。

Peck (沒食慾或是沒心情) 一點一點地吃

Because she didn’t feel well, she just pecked at some food.

由於她身體不舒服的關係，所以只吃了一點點東西。

Chomp 大聲咀嚼, 不斷地咬

Frank chomped away at the meat.

Frank 不斷地吃著肉。

Tuck in 快速地, 愉悅地吃

When the guests arrived, Mike was already at the table tucking in.

當客人都抵達時，Mike 已經在桌前大吃特吃了。

Eat up 吃完

Eat up the dinner while it is still warm .

趁飯還熱快把你的晚餐吃完。
Munch (發出聲音) 津津有味地吃

I can’t stop munching at the cookies.

我無法不去吃那些餅乾。

Devour 狼吞虎嚥地吃 = gorge/ stuff oneself = gobble (up)

The hungry boy devoured his dinner.

那飢餓的男孩將晚餐狼吞虎嚥地吃光了。

He gorged himself on fast food.

他貪婪地吃了許多速食。

We stuffed ourselves on apples.

我們大吃了一堆蘋果。

Because he’s still hungry, he gobbled up a second sandwich.

因為他還是很餓，他吞下了第二個三明治。

很奇怪的是他看起來明明很瘦，但食量卻像頭馬一樣大。

Eat like a bird/ mouse 形容食量很小

Don’t worry about food, because she eats like a bird.

食物的事就不用擔心了，因為她吃得很少。
